Lama's from south Sikkim viewing the place where Prabhahasti tried to burn Mandarva when she and Padmasambhava were going to Urain.
Jallappa sthan/ Mount Sumeru: According to the Padmasambhava story, after Padmasambhava and Mandarva attained the rainbow body, the two decided to see Padmasambhavas country in Urain (Urgain, Ugyen). They went to Urain disguised as beggars but were recognized. They were burnt on a pyre when a miracle happened. The hill split and water came and douzed the flames and they were found sitting on a lotus. Everyone was astounded. Jallappa means water dousing flames. If we break up Jallappa into ‘Jal’ and ‘Lappa’. Jal means water and ‘lappa’seems to be an ancient rendition of the rural word ‘Lapka’ which means ‘flickering flames’. Finally the last two letters of Jallappa, ie ‘pa’ which means to devour or Pa could be a short form of Pahar or hill. So put together Jallappa means water devouring or dousing flames. It is said that Maa Jallappa was burnt there inferring to Dakini Mandarva being burnt there. Some people say she came out of the flames alive. But Tibetans say there was an attempt to burn the two of them and the two came out alive. This s a topic for further research. This is what Jallappa means. I have two concrete proofs of this episode. That is the main temple has a hillock near the temple complex. I mean the hillock is just two hundred feet from the temple. Tibetan and Pema Kathang texts state that the hill split and water poured out and doused the flames. There is a thin Gorge in the hill with a spring of water flowing out straight towards the temple complex. This certainly fits into the the Tibetan story.

Naropa met Tilopa in Chakthani mispronounced as Chativavo. It is next to Kajra again mispronounced as Jagora. Chakthani means to attempt to taste. The name Chakthani correlates with the story of Tilopa frying fish and attempting to taste them. Naropa yelled and ran so Tilopa threw the fish in water. The well is there and locals pray to it.

This video has Muslims praying to Padmasambhava on the stupa where Padmasambhava made the Ganges flow upstream when the King tried to drown him in the Ganges. This is the place Padmasambhava flew out of the Ganges. Alexander Cunningham did extensive survey of this area. During his explorations he found a pillar with a human headed bird engraved on it. No one knows where Cunningham deposited that pillar. Cunninghams report that he had seen the human headed birds engraving is proof that this fight took place here. (b) The sanghramma is a huge mud mound south of the main road and the Balguddra stupa is north of the main road and is called Balguddar Kasba. Kasba is mud tucked up into a stupa. Today the stupa is Muslim property with a graveyard housed on it. Three things happened here. (1) Padmasambhava was poisoned but refused to die. It seems he was stunned by the poison and crawled away like a spider. There is a Pir Baba Mazaar by the name of Makarsa Baba. Makarsa means a spider and can mean unpoisonable. Both Hindus and Muslims are fighting over him. (2) An attempt was made to drown him but he made the river flow upstream, and in some Tibetan accounts, he made the Ganges flow north. Balguddar stupa is on the edge of an ancient Ghat whose name is still alive. Right in front of the stupa the ancient Gangetic riverbed swerves northwards from an east west direction. There is a mazaar of Malangsa Baba. Malang means Gangetic waves and winds so Malangsa baba certainly is Padmasambhava making Gangetic waves flow upstream.

A king tried to drown Padmasambhava in the Ganges, he flew up like a vulture manifesting as 'Mighty youth like a vulture'. That is what Balguddar means. It is a village today on the banks of the ancient Ganges.

Urgain, Orgen, Odiyana, Oren/Urain: According to Tibetan scriptures Lake Dhanakosha was north west of Urgain which is mentioned in the Tibetan seven line prayer. The Tibetans have several mispronounciations like Oren, Urgain, Orgen, Odiyana. So Urgain should be south east of Lake Dhanakosha. Exactly south east of Dhanari lake is Urain village which matches the Tibetan Oren or Urgain. Excavations were done in Urain village and an entire city was found below it. There is a Tibetan stupa and Padmasambhava footmark on a rock. The footmark is pointing to a humans shadow etched on rock. Bhutanese pilgrims recognized the shadow as belomging to Padmasambhava. Seventy foot long Furba’s are carved in the rock. This proves that Urain village south west of Dhanari lake is certainly the elusive Urgain or Odiyana the Buddhist world are looking for. Urgain of the Tibetan seven line prayer should have Lake Dhanakosha to the northwest, the Chilly grove charnel ground ro the south, Shambhala hills to the east. Urain in Lakhisarai District fulfills all that.

Near Sansar Pokhar where Padmasambhava was freed from Samsara, is a stupa surrounded by a moat. This had been filled with sesame oil to burn Padmasambhava who was tied to a stake. This is in Lakhisarai.

Laali Pahari/ Copper Colored Mountain/ Zangdok Palri: Zangdok Palri is a mispronunciation of ‘Jaynagar Do Pahari’. Tibetans call it the “Copper Colored Mountain.” The topography tallies with what is depicted in thanka paintings with rivers and lakes around it. The country of ‘Camara’ is simply a mispronounciation of Kabaiya village which is next to the mountain. Most of the land here is owned by people of Kabaiya village. Zandok Palri is a mispronounciation of ‘Jaynagar Pahari.’ Jaynagar is another village at the base of the hill. Tibetans call it ‘The Glorious Copper Colored Mountain’. Jay of Jaynagar means glorious. On top of the mountain is a newly excavated structure which is ditto that of Thangka paintings of Zangdok Palri or the Lotus Light Palace. The structure is in the shape of a giant Mandala. Tibetan texts say that it was in the country of Camara and surrounded by the Mule river. Camara is a mispronunciation of Kabaiya village and Mule river is a mispronunciation of Kiul river which surrounds the mountain. Recently a structure was excavated which looks exactly like the plinth of Samye Monastery in Tibet and the Thangka of Padmasambhava’s ‘Lotus Light Palace’.

Jora Temple in Kabaiya village: After the failed attempt to burn Padmasambhava and Mandarva, they were allowed to live together as a couple. There is a temple in Kabaiya village below Zangdok Pelri which the Tibetans seem to call the country of Camara. The temple is Jora temple. Jora means couple. In the Padmasambhava story, after the King of Zahor tried to burn Padmasambhava in Sansar Pokhar in Lakhisarai town of Bihar where he was freed from Samsara, and after Padmasambhava came out unscathed by fire, The King of Zahor asked forgiveness and gave him everything, even his daughter. Padmasambhava and Mandarva were allowed to live together. It means they were allowed to live as a couple. Jora means couple so Jora temple commemorates this event. This temple is just below the black hillock of Zangdok Pelri and the dungeon where Padmasambhava was incarcerated. Jora temple has half a dozen black stone statues of Padmasambhava and Mandarva. The carvings in these statues match Tibetan Thanka paintings of Padmasambhava and seem to be their original because Padmasambhavas trishul, five petalled hat, bulging eyes, his ear rings, his moustache, the cap in one hand and vajra in the other, his necklace etc are exactly like the Thangka paintings in the Himalayas. The only difference is the statues in Jora temple are bare bodied because of Bihars humid climate while the Tibetan Thankas have him well covered because of the freezing temperatures there. In addition to Padmasambhavas statues, you have Mandarvas statues wearing the five petalled crown.

Khenchen Tsoki Dorji viewing a votive stupa which Tibetans call a Chorten. It has eight figure with five petalled caps which represents Padmasambhava's eight manifestations. Locals call it Kokil Chand Baba. Kokil sounds similar to the Vajrayana word Kilaya. This is in Ramsir village next to Jallapa Sthan where Prabhahasti failed to burn Mandarva. These eight figures are represented by eight tiny two inch high stupas. The name Kokil can mean without the Kilaya. And Chand means many inferring to the eight manifestations.
