Sree Kuruthikaaman Kavu Temple Om Sree Kirathamooorthaye Nama:... ഓം ശ്രീ കിരാതമൂർത്തയെ നമഃ Arjuna, the pandava performs a severe penance to propitiate Lord Shiva.

Pleased with Arjuna’s devotion Shiva accompanied with his consort Sri Parvathi set out from their abode at Kailash to meet Arjuna. Shiva intends to impress Parvathi with the devotion Arjuna has towards him. Shiva disguises himself as " Kiratha" a tribal hunter before appearing before Arjuna. Just as Shiva appears before Arjuna he sees a wild boar charging towards Arjuna and shoots an arrow at the

boar. Arjuna, who is an accomplished archer, also shoots an arrow at the boar. The boar who was in fact a demon named Mookasura in disguise is killed and its original form is revealed. However, dispute arises between Arjuna and Kiratha as to who is the real killer of the animal. A battle ensues between the two, lasting a long time, ultimately resulting in Kiratha’s victory over Arjuna. The vanquished Arjuna, unable to even stand up makes a Shiva Linga out of mud and performs a pooja offering flowers. To his surprise, he sees that the flower he offers over the Shiva Linga is falling over the head of Kiratha. Arjuna then realises that Kiratha is none other than his Lord Shiva. Shiva, in his true form, along with Parvathy appears before Arjuna and blesses him. He also gifts him the divine arrow, the " Pasupathastram." In this Form Siva appearig here as Kiratha moorthy,......

So many stories were dere... dat earlier the temple was that of Devi and the presence of Devi was still there... So in 1999 there held a Devaprasanam and after that three Upadevas Devi , Ganesh Aiyappan and Nagarajas came....

Now the temple is under renewation.....Now u can see Aanakkottil Gopuram walls and all... earlier all these things were not present .......
Under the management of Nair Service Society and the good people of Thottakkadu and nearby places we are gradually moulding up.......

2025 മെയ്‌ - 2 - വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാവിലെ സർപ്പൂജ, ശനിയാഴ്ച രാവിലെ - മൃത്യുഞ്ജയ ഹോമം - പങ്കെടുക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർ പേരും, നാളും ദേവസ്വം നമ്പറിൽ വാട്സാപ്പ് സന്ദേശമായോ, നേരിട്ട് ദേവസ്വത്തിലോ അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. മെയ്‌ 3 നു (മഹാദേവന്റെ ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ചു കലശം) പ്രസാദമൂട്ട് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്. എല്ലാ ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെയും സാന്നിദ്ധ്യ സഹായസഹകരണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാവണമെന്ന് ഭഗവത് നാമത്തിൽ അറിയിക്കുന്നു

ഭക്തജനങ്ങളേ..

ഈ വർഷത്തെ കലശദിന മഹോത്സവം 2024 മെയ് 12, 13 തീയതി കളിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം തന്ത്രി. ബ്രഹ്മശ്രീ. പെരിഞ്ഞേരിമന വാസുദേവൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെ മുഖ്യ കാർമികത്വത്തിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.

ഒന്നാം ദിവസമായ മെയ് പന്ത്രണ്ടാം തീയതി രാവിലെ ഉപദേവ കലശങ്ങളും, സർപ്പ പൂജയും നടക്കുന്നു.

രണ്ടാം ദിവസമായ മെയ് 13ന് ശ്രീഭൂതബലി, മൃത്യുഞ്ജയഹോമം, മഹാദേവന് ഇരുപത്തഞ്ച് കലശവും നടക്കുന്നു.

എല്ലാഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെയും സാന്നിദ്ധ്യ, സഹായ സഹകരണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകണമെന്ന് ഭഗവത് നാമത്തിൽ അറിയിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

കേരളത്തിൽ നിരവധി സമുദായ ആരാധനയിൽ കിരാത ശിവൻ പല പേരിലായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു വേട്ടയ്ക്കാരൻ, കിരാതൻ, വേടൻ, ചണ്ഡാല ശിവൻ, കാട്ടു മൂർത്തി, എന്നിവയും തെക്കൻ കോഴിക്കോട് ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ ചങ്ങല മുറിയൻ, കരുവൻ എന്ന പേര് പറയാറുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിലെ നമ്പൂതിരി വിഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ അവരുടെ തേവര മൂർത്തിയായി ആരാധിക്കാറുണ്ട്. രണ്ടു ഭാവങ്ങൾ ആണ് പൊതുവെ കാണപ്പെടാറു

എന്നിങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നു. ഇത് കൂടാതെ വളരെ രഹസ്യമായ ഒരു താന്ത്രിക ഭാവം കൂടെ ഉണ്ട് അതി ഗോപ്യമായി തന്ത്രത്തിൽ അധിഷ്ഠിതമായി ആചരിച്ചിരുന്ന കിരാത ശിവനുടെ അതി ശക്തിയേറിയ ഭാവം ആ ഭാവത്തിന്റെ മന്ത്രത്തിന്റെ പേര് കിരാത സ്ഫോടനം എന്നാകുന്നു. സഹസ്രാക്ഷരം (ആയിരം അക്ഷരം) കൊണ്ടുള്ള അപൂർവ്വ ശക്തി മന്ത്രം. ആ കിരാതാണ് ഏഴു മുഖം ആകുന്നു പഞ്ച രുദ്രന്മാർ (ഈശാനൻ, തത്പുരുഷൻ, വാമദേവൻ, സദ്യോജാതൻ, അഘോരൻ) കൂടാതെ ഒരു ഗുപ്ത മുഖവും ഒരു ശക്തി (ദേവി ) മുഖവും ചേർന്ന് വരുന്ന ആയിരം അക്ഷരമുള്ള അപൂർവ്വ ശക്തി മന്ത്രമാകുന്നു മഹാ കിരാത സ്ഫോടനം. ഈ മന്ത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകത മഹാ ഷോഡശി ബീജങ്ങൾ ഈ മന്ത്രത്തിൽ വരുന്നതിനാൽ ഷോഡശി ഉപാസകർക്കു മാത്രമേ ജപിക്കാൻ വിധിയുള്ളു.
