Billy Graham: Criticizing Your Pastor Is a Sin

Q: Why do some people seem to enjoy criticizing their pastor? I'm in a civic organization with a couple of friends from another church, and it seems like all they talk about is their pastor's shortcomings. Should I say something to them about this?

A: No pastor is perfect, of course—but if God has called someone to be a pastor and has sent them to serve a particular church, then they should be helped and encouraged in every way possible. The Bible says, "Who can lay a hand on the Lord's anointed and be guiltless?" (1 Samuel 26:9, NIV).

Does this mean pastors should always be above criticism—even if they neglect their responsibilities or otherwise are at fault? No, it doesn't—but most churches have ways of dealing with such matters through their ruling board or denominational structure. Paul reminded the Christians in Corinth that "everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way" (1 Corinthians 14:40).

Sadly, I have known of church members who seem to enjoy criticizing their pastor—and sometimes they keep doing it pastor after pastor. I've never known why; perhaps they do it to just to get attention. But whatever their reason, it is wrong, and it is a sin in the eyes of God. Not only does it cause dissension in the church, but it means their heart and mind are closed to the teaching of God's Word.

Pray for an opportunity to speak with your friends about their attitude, urging them not only to avoid criticizing their pastor but to do all they can to support and help this individual. Especially encourage them to pray for their pastor. Pray too for your own church and its pastoral staff, that they truly may "Be shepherds of God's flock ... eager to serve" (1 Peter 5:2).

The Body Is For the Lord and the Lord Is For the Body

In 1 Cor. 6:12-13, Paul speaks about the way we use our body. “I will not be mastered by any of my bodily desires”.

Food is essential for our bodies; but if you want to be a servant of God, you must not allow yourself to be mastered by food. If you love food so much that you are mastered by it, you will never be a useful servant of God. You have to break free from that slavery. This is where fasting can help. It is not only our spirit, but our physical body also is a “member of Christ” (1 Cor. 6:15). So we must never use it for any immoral purpose. It must be for the Lord’s exclusive use – our eyes, our tongue and every part of our body.

Here is a wonderful promise of God for the body – one that I have claimed for myself for many years now: “The body is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body” (1 Cor. 6:13). If you say, “Lord, my body is totally Yours, from head to foot – my eyes, my tongue, my everything,” and mean it, then the Lord will be totally for your body. He will keep your body fit to serve Him as long as He wants you to serve Him. He will even preserve it from sickness. Even young people may faint, but those who give their bodies to the Lord will fly like eagles in the sky.

Our body is also the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19) – and so we must not defile it in any way. If you won’t smoke or drink or commit adultery inside a church building, then you must not do any of those things in your body either – because the real temple of God is not any church building, but your body. “You have been bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body” (verse 20).

These nine verses (1 Cor. 6:12–20) together form one of the most wonderful portions of Scripture about how we should use our body and God’s provision for it. I would encourage you to meditate on it, because we need a healthy body in order to serve God.

Many Christians talk about healing. But health is better than healing. Prevention is better than cure. It is better to eat less and be healthy, than to be a glutton, get sick, and then ask God for healing. Don’t ask the Lord to be your Healer, ask Him to be your Health. Give your body totally to Him and say, “Lord, You are the Health of my body. As long as You want me to live on earth and serve You, I am available. I will glorify You in my body, because You purchased it for Yourself on the cross. My body belongs to You alone.”

Our body is like a house that has been purchased by someone else – the Lord. We must vacate this house and let the rightful Owner now occupy it fully. It is a sin to continue to live in a house that somebody else has purchased. Hand over your body then totally to the Lord.

Blessings from Imprisonment

Paul, writing from a prison in Rome says, “Don’t be discouraged about my imprisonment because my imprisonment has turned out for the progress of the gospel” (Phil.1:12). Paul believed that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

How did Paul’s imprisonment work out for good? Here is one way in which Paul’s imprisonment worked for our good: Paul was a man who was always on the go. Even when he was old, he was always travelling. He wanted to reach as many places as possible with the gospel, before he left this earth. He had such a close walk with God and had been through so many trials that he had become a very wealthy man spiritually. But he had not written down all that he had learnt from the Lord. God determined that this man’s spiritual wealth should not go down with him into the grave, but be preserved and transmitted for the blessing of future generations. But how could God make Paul slow down enough to make him sit down and write all that? He allowed him to be imprisoned!!

When Paul was in prison, he could not travel. So he decided to spend his time profitably and write letters to some of the churches. That was how he wrote Philippians, Ephesians and Colossians. What was the result? Those writings have become a blessing to millions of people for 2000 years. So, Paul’s imprisonment turned out for good.

In the mid-1980s, I was admitted in a hospital for a short while. I asked the Lord why He allowed me to be in a hospital when I could have been busy serving Him somewhere. The Lord told me that He wanted me to lie down for a few days and listen to what He had to say to me. I had been so busy in the ministry that I had hardly got time to talk to the Lord. When I saw that that was the reason for my hospitalization, I was happy to lie there for as long as the Lord wanted, because I wanted to hear Him. One advantage of lying in a hospital bed is that you can only look up! As I lay there, the Lord began to speak to me day after day. As the Lord spoke to me, I wrote down what He said. That was the only article I ever wrote that was written almost thought for thought, as the Lord spoke to me. It was published as an article titled “God Needs Men” (Chapter 2 in my book “New Wine in New Wineskins”), and later as a booklet titled, “Fifty Marks of Godly Men”. God has used that article and that booklet around the world in many countries. I consider it to be the most important of all my writings. But I might never have written it, if the Lord had not put me in a hospital-bed!

God stops us at times – by sickness or by imprisonment – in order to make us do something for Him that we would never have done otherwise. So we can be thankful whenever God stops us in our tracks. He has a purpose in it, for “the STOPS of good men are directed by the Lord, just as much as their STEPS” (Psalm 37:23).
There was also a second way in which Paul’s imprisonment worked for good. He says, “My imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else” (Phil.1:13); and later, “All the Christians here want to be remembered to you, especially those who work in Caesar’s palace” (Phil.4:22 - Living). How did people in Caesar’s palace get converted? Because Paul preached the gospel to those prison guards when they were chained to him. In those days, prisoners were chained to a prison guard to prevent them from escaping. During the 8 hours that a Roman soldier was chained to him, Paul would preach the gospel to him. The guard could not go away!! He had to listen. When one guard’s 8-hour shift was over, another guard would replace him for the next 8 hours – and Paul would preach the gospel to him too! Thus a number of the guards were converted. Very soon there was a little church meeting in Caesar’s palace!!

Paul’s imprisonment resulted therefore in the Scriptures being written and in people (who would never have come to a meeting) being converted.

But that was not all. There was a third blessing too, that came from Paul’s imprisonment. Many believers who had been timid became courageous to preach the gospel, when they heard of Paul’s imprisonment (Phil. 1:14). They got rid of their fear of preaching the gospel and began to boldly proclaim Christ. Thus Paul’s imprisonment “turned out for the spread of the gospel”.

Our God is a God Who brings good out of evil. Praise the Lord.

സഭയുടെ ഒരു മുതിര്‍ന്ന അപ്പൊസ്തലനായ പത്രൊസിനോട് പൗലൊസ് എതിര്‍ത്തു നില്‍ക്കുന്നു

ഗലാത്യര്‍ 2 :11 ല്‍ പൗലൊസ് , പത്രൊസിനോടുപോലും എതിര്‍ത്തു നില്‍ക്കുന്നതായി നാം വായിക്കുന്നു. ‘പത്രൊസ് അന്ത്യോക്യയില്‍ വന്നാറെ, ഞാന്‍ അഭിമുഖമായി അവനോട് എതിര്‍ത്തു നിന്നു’.പൗലൊസിന് ദൈവത്താല്‍ നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടഒരു ശുശ്രൂഷ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ് പരസ്യമായി പൗലൊസിനെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്ത ഒരാളാണ് പത്രൊസ് എന്ന കാര്യം ഓര്‍ക്കുക (2 : 9). എന്നിട്ടും പൗലൊസ് അവനോട് എതിര്‍ത്തു നിന്നു. ഇവിടെ പത്രൊസിനെയും , യാക്കോബിനെയും, യോഹന്നാനെയും കുറിച്ച് അത്ഭുതകരമായ ചില കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നാം കാണുന്നു. അവരെക്കാള്‍ വളരെ ചെറുപ്പമായ പൗലൊസിന്, അവരെക്കാള്‍ വിശാലമായ ഒരു ശുശ്രൂഷ ഉണ്ടാകാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ അത് അംഗീകരിച്ച് അവനെ അതിനായി ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുവാനുള്ള കൃപ അവര്‍ക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് അതുപോലെ ഒരു യുവ സഹോദരന്റെ മേലുള്ള അഭിഷേകം തിരിച്ചറിയുവാന്‍ ആവശ്യമായ കൃപയുള്ള പ്രായമായ ദൈവദാസന്മാരെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത് വളരെ വിരളമായാണ്. സഭയിലെ ഒരു മുതിര്‍ന്ന നേതാവായ പത്രൊസിനെ പൗലൊസ് അപ്പോള്‍ എതിര്‍ക്കുകയും അദ്ദേഹം തെറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് പറയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അത്, ഇളമുറക്കാരനായ ഒരു പ്രവര്‍ത്തകന്‍ തന്റെ സഭാവിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നതനേതാവിനോട് എതിര്‍ത്തു നിന്നിട്ട് ‘ നിങ്ങള്‍ തെറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു ‘ എന്ന് അയാളോട് പറയുന്നത് പോലെയാണ്.

എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് പൗലൊസിനെ പോലെയുള്ളവര്‍ വളരെ കുറച്ചു മാത്രമുള്ളത്? കാരണം മിക്ക ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളും നയതന്ത്രപരരും മനുഷ്യരെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുവാന്‍ നോക്കുന്നവരുമാണ്. അവരുടെ ഒത്തുതീര്‍പ്പു മനോഭാവത്തെ ശാന്തതയും വിനയവുമായി അവര്‍ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിക്കുന്നു. സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ സത്യത്തിലേക്കു വരുമ്പോള്‍ നമ്മുടെ പ്രശസ്തി നാം അന്വേഷിക്കരുത്. സത്യം നമ്മുടെ സ്വത്തല്ല. അത് ദൈവത്തിന്റേതാണ് അതുകൊണ്ട് നാം അതിനെ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. മിക്ക ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളും അവരുടെ ഭൗതിക സമ്പത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നഖശിഖാന്തം പോരാടാറുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ മോഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വത്തിന്റെ സത്യം കാര്യത്തിലേക്ക് വരുമ്പോള്‍, മിക്ക ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളും കേവലം നിശബ്ദത പാലിക്കുന്നു. അവര്‍ ദൈവത്തെയോ സത്യത്തെയോ സ്‌നേഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ പൗലൊസ് സത്യത്തെ സ്‌നേഹിച്ചു.

ആരെങ്കിലും പൗലൊസിന്റെ അങ്കിയോ, ഉടുപ്പോ മാത്രമാണ് മോഷ്ടിച്ചിരുന്നതെങ്കില്‍, അതെടുക്കുവാന്‍ അവന്‍ അവരെ അനുവദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ അവര്‍ ദൈവ വചനത്തിലുള്ള സത്യത്തെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചപ്പോള്‍, അദ്ദേഹം സത്യത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പോരാടി. ഓരോ ദൈവഭക്തന്മാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെയാണ്. അവന്റെ സ്വന്തം സ്വത്തിനുവേണ്ടി കരുതുന്നതിനെക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സത്യത്തിനുവേണ്ടി കരുതുന്നു. നിങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാവരും നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തം സ്വത്തിനെ വിലമതിക്കുന്നത്രയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സത്യത്തെ വിലമതിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍, നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഉള്ളതിനെക്കാള്‍ വളരെയധികം പുരോഗതി ഉണ്ടാകുമായിരുന്നു. സത്യത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഒരു നിലപാടെടുക്കാന്‍ മനസ്സുള്ള വളരെക്കുറച്ചുപേര്‍ മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ കാണുന്നു. മിക്ക പ്രാസംഗികരും മനുഷ്യരെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തിന് അവരെ തന്റെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നില്ല. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ആരെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുവാനാണ് ആഗ്രഹം എന്നു കാണുവാന്‍ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ വിവിധങ്ങളായുള്ള നിരവധി സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിലൂടെ പരിശോധന ചെയ്യും. ഇവിടെ പൗലൊസ് പത്രൊസിനെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുവാന്‍ നോക്കുമോ എന്നു കാണുവാന്‍ ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിശോധിക്കുന്നു. പത്രൊസ് ഒരു മുതിര്‍ന്ന അപ്പൊസ്തലനായിരുന്നു, എന്നാല്‍ ആദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്തത് തെറ്റായിരുന്നു (ഗലാ 2 :12). അദ്ദേഹം ജാതികളോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ യാക്കോബിന്റെ (യരൂശലേമിലെ മൂപ്പന്‍) അടുക്കല്‍ നിന്നു ചിലര്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍, യാക്കോബ് എന്തു വിചാരിക്കും എന്ന് ഭയപ്പെട്ട് അദ്ദേഹം പിന്‍വാങ്ങി പിരിഞ്ഞുനിന്നു. അപ്പോഴാണ് പൗലൊസ് പത്രൊസിനോട് എതിര്‍ത്തു നിന്നത്. ബര്‍ന്നബാസ് പോലും പത്രൊസിന്റെ കാപട്യത്തില്‍ തെറ്റിപ്പോകുവാന്‍ ഇടയായി(ഗലാ 2 : 13).

ബര്‍ന്നബാസും പൗലൊസിനെക്കാള്‍ മുതിര്‍ന്ന ആളായിരുന്നു. അയാള്‍ ശാന്തനും കൃപാലുവുമായ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു. അയാളുടെ മനോഭാവം ഇപ്രകാരമായിരുന്നിരിക്കാം, ‘ സഹോദരന്‍ ഒരു മുതിര്‍ന്ന സഹോദരനാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്തെങ്കിലും പറഞ്ഞ് ദൈവഭക്തനായ ഈ മനുഷ്യനെ ഞാന്‍ വിധിക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ’. എന്നാല്‍ പൗലൊസിന്റെ മനോഭാവം ഇപ്രകാരമായിരുന്നു,’ അദ്ദേഹം കൂടുതല്‍ ദൈവഭക്തനാണോ എന്നതല്ല ഇവിടുത്തെ ചോദ്യം. ഞാന്‍ എന്നെത്തന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് താരതമ്യം ചെയ്യുകയല്ല. അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്യുന്നത് നമ്മള്‍ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന സുവിശേഷത്തിന് എതിരായിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്. ജാതികളോട് കൂടെ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതില്‍ എന്താണ് തെറ്റ്? സഹോദരന്‍ യാക്കോബിന് പറയാനുള്ളതിനെ നാം എന്തിനാണ് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നത് ?’

ഇതുപോലെ ഏതെങ്കിലും മുതിര്‍ന്ന സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അഭിപ്രായത്തെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ടോ? പൗലൊസിനെപ്പോലെ ധീരന്മാരായ, ഭയരഹിതരായ ആളുകള്‍ ഒന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ്, പുതിയ നിയമത്തില്‍ നമുക്ക് നിര്‍മ്മല സുവിശഷം ഉള്ളത്. ഈ കഴിഞ്ഞ 20 നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളിലും സുവിശേഷ സത്യത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നിന്ന ഭയരഹിതരും, മനുഷ്യരെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ നേക്കാത്തവരുമായ ആളുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ്, ഇന്ന് നമുക്ക് നിര്‍മ്മല സുവിശേഷ സന്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ ഉള്ളത്. അപ്രകാരമുള്ള ആളുകള്‍ക്കായി ദൈവത്തിനു നന്ദി.

Shepherds after God’s Own Heart

In Jeremiah 3:14, 15, the Lord promises saying, "I will take you one from a city and two from a family and I will bring you to Zion. Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding."

"Zion" represents the true church of the living God. God brings one from a city and two from a family into His "Zion". And when we have come to this Zion - the church that the Lord is building - He promises to give us there "shepherds after His own heart", who will feed us on a knowledge of Himself (and not just a knowledge of the Bible) and on understanding of His ways (and not just an understanding of doctrine).

One primary identifying mark of the true church of God is this: It has shepherds after God's own heart.

God is love - and the primary characteristic of love is that it does not seek its own. So, shepherds after God's own heart are those who do not seek their own. Such shepherds will not seek for anyone's money or honour. They will seek neither to please men nor to impress them. Instead they will seek to build up the believers in order "to present them perfect in Christ" (Colossians 1:28). Wherever God can find a man with such a longing - in any town or village of the world - He will build His church.

On the other hand, we have seen many cases of believers who leave the mainline denominations and who seek to follow "the New Testament pattern", who have their doctrines all correct, but who love money and seek their own, and who yet imagine that they are building the Body of Christ. Confusion and chaos are always the result of their labours and what is finally built through their labours is always Babylon.

Only where God can find a man who does not seek his own, can the Lord build His true church. One man like that, who shares the concern of God's heart for people, is far more valuable to God than a thousand believers who seek their own.

To be a shepherd after God's own heart will involve sacrifice, inconvenience, and suffering. It will mean being willing to suffer misunderstanding, opposition, ridicule and slander joyfully. And if such a shepherd is blessed enough to have a wife who also does not seek her own, so that their home is open for the Lord to do whatever He wants, then there will be no limit to what God can do through their lives.

I am not talking now about gathering many people. Numbers are not a mark of God's blessing. Many of the well-known cults gather more numbers of people than anyone else. That does not prove anything. I am talking now of quality - the building of the Body of Christ, where every individual member comes into a personal knowledge of God.
Without such a development, any group will only be a place where one blind man has led a whole lot of other blind people into the ditch. All their prayer meetings will be in the ditch, their Bible-studies will be in the ditch and their conferences will be in the ditch too!!

In Jesus' time, He looked around and saw that people were like sheep without a shepherd. It is the same today.

The great need everywhere is for shepherds after God's own heart. I am not talking here about just being an elder in a church. No. A large church needs many shepherds - those who have a heart that cares for God's people. Such people may not be elders at all. But they will feed and encourage the sheep - serving them gladly.

Busy-ness – Satan’s Evil Scheme

Here is something that I read recently on how people can become busy, busy, busy.

"Satan called a world-wide convention. In his opening address to his demons he said: ‘We can't keep Christians from going to church. We can't keep them from reading their Bibles. But we can do something else. We can keep them from having an intimate relationship with Christ. If they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them will be broken. So let them go to church, let them have their fundamental doctrines, let them have their conservative lifestyles, but steal their time, so they can't develop that intimate experience in Jesus Christ. This is what I want you demons to do. Distract them from getting hold of their Saviour.

His demons asked: ‘How shall we do this?’

Satan said, ‘Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life. Invent numerous schemes to occupy their minds. Tempt them to spend and spend and borrow and borrow. Convince the wives to go to work and the husbands to work 6 or 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can keep up their high-living lifestyles. Keep them from spending time with their children. As their families fragment, very soon their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work.

Overstimulate their minds so that they cannot hear Jesus talk to them. Entice them to play the radio or cassette player with music whenever they drive, and to keep the TV or their video-tapes or their CDs playing constantly, in their homes. And see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays music constantly.

Fill their coffee tables with magazines and newspapers. Pound their minds with the news, 24 hours a day. Invade their driving moments with bill boards. Flood their mailboxes with junk mail: sweepstakes, mail order catalogues, and every kind of newsletter and promotion offering ‘free' products, services, and false hopes.

Even in their recreation let them be excessive. Have them return from their family vacation exhausted and unprepared for the coming week. Don't let them go out for a walk in nature. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, concerts and movies instead. And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences and unsettled emotions.

Allow them to witness for Christ. But crowd their lives with so many good causes that they have no time to seek for power from Christ. Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family unity – all for the good of their cause.’

And the demons went eagerly to their assignments, causing Christians everywhere to become busy, busy, busy and to rush here and there.

Has the devil been successful at his scheme? You be the judge.”

യെശയ്യാവ് 33:14,15 ല്‍ ഇപ്രകാരം എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ‘സീയോനിലെ പാപികള്‍ പേടിക്കുന്നു;, വഷളരെ ( കാപട്യമുള്ളവരെ കിംഗ് :ജെ:വെ) വിറയല്‍ ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നമ്മില്‍ ആര്‍ക്ക് ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്‌നിയോടൊപ്പം പാര്‍ക്കാം, ? നമ്മില്‍ ആര്‍ക്ക് നിത്യ ജ്വാലയോടൊപ്പം വസിക്കാം ? നീതിയോടെ നടക്കുകയും നേര്‍ പറയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ , പീഢനത്താലുളള ലാഭം വെറുക്കുന്നവന്‍ , കൈക്കൂലിവാങ്ങാതെ കൈകുടഞ്ഞുകളയുന്നവന്‍, രക്തപാതകത്തെ പറ്റി കേള്‍ക്കാതെ ചെവി പൊത്തുന്നവന്‍, ദോഷത്തെ നോക്കാതെ തന്റെ കണ്ണ് അടച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്‍’.

ദഹപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്‌നിയോടൊപ്പം വസിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒന്നാമത്തെ യോഗ്യതയായി ഇവിടെ പറയുന്നത്. ‘നീതിയോടെ നടക്കുകയും പരമാര്‍ത്ഥതയോടെ സംസാരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ (യെശ: 33:15)’ എന്നാണ്. അത് പരാമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നത് തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ലഭിച്ച വെളിച്ചത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതങ്ങളില്‍ പരമാര്‍ത്ഥതയില്‍ നടക്കുന്നവരെയാണ് . അവര്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണരായിരിക്കുകയില്ല. , എന്നാല്‍ അവര്‍ പരമാര്‍ത്ഥികളാണ്. അവര്‍ കാപട്യക്കാരല്ല സഭയില്‍ മറ്റെന്തിനെക്കാളും അധികം ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട ഒരു കാര്യമുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അത് നമ്മുടെ ആത്മീയതയെക്കുറിച്ച് സത്യമല്ലാത്ത ഒരു മതിപ്പ് മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കുന്നതാണ്. നിങ്ങള്‍ ഒട്ടും തന്നെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കാതിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള്‍ വളരെ അധികം പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളാണെന്ന മതിപ്പ് മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കാറുണ്ടോ? അധികം ഉപവസിക്കാതിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള്‍ വളരെ അധികം ഉപവസിക്കുന്നു എന്ന മതിപ്പ് നിങ്ങള്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കുന്നുണ്ടോ?. നിങ്ങള്‍ ഒരു പൂര്‍ണ്ണ ഹൃദയനല്ലാതിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അങ്ങനെയാണെന്ന് മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ കണക്കാക്കണമെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ?.അങ്ങനെയാണെങ്കില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ വീണുപോകുവാനുള്ള സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്. നിങ്ങള്‍ അപൂര്‍ണ്ണനായതുകൊണ്ടല്ല , എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ പരമാര്‍ത്ഥതയില്ലാത്തവനായതുകൊണ്ടാണ്. നമ്മുടെ അന്തരംഗത്തിലെ സത്യമാണ് ദൈവം ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നത്. സീയോനിലുള്ള കാപട്യക്കാര്‍ വിറയ്ക്കുന്നു, കാരണം അവര്‍ തുറന്ന് കാട്ടപ്പെടുമോ എന്നവര്‍ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്‌നിയോടൊപ്പം പാര്‍ക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള രണ്ടാമത്തെ യോഗ്യത ‘പീഢനത്താലുള്ള ലാഭം വെറുക്കുന്നതാണ്'(യെ.ശ 33:15) മറ്റുള്ള വാക്കുകളില്‍ പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ പണമിടപാടുകളില്‍ വിശ്വസ്ഥരായിരിക്കുക എന്നാണ് .ദൈവത്തിനുപകരമുള്ള യജമാനന്‍ സാത്താനാണെന്ന് നമ്മള്‍ ചിന്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകാം. ദൈവത്തിനു പകരമുള്ള യജമാനന്‍ മാമോന്‍ ( പണവും മറ്റ് ഭൗതീക സമ്പത്തും) ആണെന്ന് ലൂക്കോ16:13 യേശു തന്നെ പറഞ്ഞു. ദൈവത്തേയും സാത്തനേയും ഒരേ സമയം സ്‌നേഹിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയുമെന്ന് ഒരു വിശ്വാസിയും ചിന്തിക്കുകയില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ ദൈവത്തേയും പണത്തേയും ഒരേ സമയം സ്‌നേഹിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയും എന്ന ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസികളുടെ ഒരു വലിയ കൂട്ടം തന്നെയുണ്ട്. ഒരു വിശ്വാസിയും ഒരിക്കലും സാത്താനെ കവിണ്ണ് വീണ് നമസ്‌ക്കരിക്കുകയില്ല എന്നാല്‍ മാമോനെ ആരാധിച്ചിട്ട് അവര്‍ക്ക് ദൈവത്തെയും കൂടി ആരാധിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയും എന്ന് ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന ലക്ഷകണക്കിന് വിശ്വാസികള്‍ ഇന്നുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ പണത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ അവര്‍ വിശ്വസ്തരല്ലെങ്കില്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയുകയില്ല മാമോന്‍ ഒരു വ്യക്തിയെ ജീവനുള്ള സത്യ ദൈവത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് അകറ്റികളയും എന്നവര്‍ മനസിലാക്കുന്നില്ല.

ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്‌നിയോടൊപ്പം ജീവിക്കുന്നതിന് വേണ്ട മൂന്നാമത്തെ യോഗ്യത രക്തപാതകത്തെ പറ്റി കേള്‍ക്കാതെ ചെവിപൊത്തികളയുക എന്നതാണ്. (യെശ 33:15 ) ഇത് ഏഷണി പറയുന്നത് ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതിനേക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതലായ ഒരു കാര്യമാണ്. ഇത് പരാമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നത് മറ്റൊരാള്‍ ഏഷണി പറയുന്നത് കേള്‍ക്കാന്‍ പോലും ആഗ്രഹമില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനെയാണ്. ദൈവഭയമുള്ള ഒരാള്‍ സഹോദരന്മാരെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്ന പ്രധാന അപവാദിയുടെ നേരെ മാത്രമല്ല ( വെളി 12:10) അവന്റെ ഏജന്റുമാര്‍ക്കും കൂടെ തന്റെ കാതുകളെ അടച്ചുകളയും!!.

ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്‌നിയോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍ക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള നാലാമത്തെ യോഗ്യത ഇവിടെ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത് , ദോഷത്തെകാണാതെ നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണുകളെ അടച്ചുകളയുക എന്നതാണ്.ഈ രണ്ട് ശാരീരിക ഇന്ദ്രിയങ്ങള്‍ കേള്‍ക്കുന്നതും, കാണുന്നതും ആണ് നന്മയും തിന്മയും നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള രണ്ട് കൈവഴികള്‍ നാം എന്തിനെയാണ് അകത്ത് പ്രവേശിക്കുവാന്‍ അനുവദിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് നാം തീരുമാനിക്കണം. ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്‌നിയോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍ക്കുന്നവര്‍ തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ മലിനമാക്കുന്ന ഒന്നിനേയും നോക്കുകയില്ല.

ആത്മീയ പോരാട്ടം

എഫേ 6:10-18 ല്‍ നാം സാത്താനുമായുള്ള ആത്മീയപോരാട്ടത്തെകുറിച്ച് വായിക്കുന്നു. ഭവനത്തെകുറിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഭാഗം കഴിഞ്ഞ ഉടന്‍ ആണ് ആത്മീയപോരാട്ടത്തെകുറിച്ചുള്ള ഭാഗം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. പിശാച് എപ്പോഴും ആദ്യം ആക്രമിക്കുന്നത് ഭവനത്തെയാണ്. നാം പിശാചിനെതിരായി ഉറച്ചുനില്‍ക്കുകയും ഒരിക്കലും ജഡരക്തങ്ങളോട് പോരാടാതിരിക്കുകയും വേണം. (എഫേ 6:12). സാത്താനോട് ഫലപ്രദമായി പോരാടണമെങ്കില്‍ ഒന്നാമതായി നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ട യോഗ്യത മനുഷ്യരോടുള്ള എല്ലാ പോരാട്ടങ്ങളും അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്. അനേകം വിശ്വാസികളും സാത്താനായി കീഴടക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നതിന് കാരണം അവര്‍ മനുഷ്യരുമായി അത്രമാത്രം പോരാടുന്നു എന്നതാണ്.ഒരു കാര്യത്തെ ചൊല്ലിയും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനോടും ഒരിക്കലും പോരാടുകയില്ലെന്ന് അനേകം വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പ് തന്നെ ഞാന്‍ ഒരു തീരുമാനം എടുത്തു. അതിനു ശേഷം എനിക്ക് സാത്താനോട് ഫലപ്രദമായി പോരാടാന്‍ കഴിയുമെന്ന് ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടെത്തി. നിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ ഒരു തീരുമാനം എടുക്കുമെങ്കില്‍ ഒരിക്കലും മനുഷ്യനോട് പോരാടുകയില്ലെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നിരന്തരമായി സാത്താനെ ജയിക്കുവാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം കൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തിനും സഭയ്ക്കും
പ്രയോജനകരമായ ചില കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യുവാനും കഴിയും. സര്‍വ്വായുധ വര്‍ഗ്ഗം എന്നത് ദൈവം നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കിയിട്ടുള്ള ആത്മീയ ആയുധത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളുടെ ചിത്രമാണ്.

ഏറ്റവും ആദ്യം സത്യം എന്ന അരക്കച്ചയാണ് സത്യം എന്നത് അര്‍ത്ഥമാക്കുന്നത് പരമാര്‍ത്ഥത, യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യം ,കാപട്യമില്ലായ്മ, ഭോഷ്‌ക്ക് ഇല്ലായ്മ ഇവയാണ്. ഈ പാപങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ സ്വതന്ത്രര്‍ അല്ലങ്കില്‍ സാത്താനോട് പോരാടുന്ന കാര്യം നിങ്ങള്‍ അപ്പാടെ മറന്നേക്കുക. പിശാച് ഭോഷ്‌ക്ക് പറയുന്ന ഒരുവനാണ് അപ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ആന്തരിക ജീവിതത്തില്‍ കള്ളം പറയുന്ന സ്വഭാവം നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍,നിങ്ങളുടെ അകത്തെ മനുഷ്യനുമായി സാത്താന് കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും,. അപ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സാത്താനെ ജയിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയുകയില്ല അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം എല്ലാ സമയത്തും സുതാര്യവും കപടമില്ലാത്തുമാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുക.

മാര്‍കവചം എന്നത് നീതിയാണ്. രണ്ട് തരത്തിലുള്ള നീതിയുണ്ട്. 1). നമ്മില്‍ ചുമത്തപ്പെടുന്ന ക്രിസതുവിന്റെ നീതി, അതിനാലാണ് നാം നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്( ദൈവത്താല്‍ തന്നെ നാം നീതിമാനെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.)2). നാം ആത്മീയമായി വളരുമ്പോള്‍ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിലൂടെ കുറേശ്ശേ കുറേശ്ശേ നമ്മളാല്‍ പങ്കുവഹിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതു വഴി നമ്മിലേയ്ക്ക് പകരപ്പെടുന്ന ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നീതി. എല്ലായ്‌പ്പോഴും ഒരു നല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതും ദൈവം നമുക്ക് കാണിച്ചു തരുന്നതെല്ലാം അനുസരിക്കുന്നതും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നതാണ് ഇത്.

അടുത്തതായി വരുന്നത് സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരുക്കമെന്ന ചെരുപ്പാണ്. മറ്റുള്ളവരോട് സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നത് നമുക്ക് സാത്താനെ ജയിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരുമാര്‍ഗ്ഗമാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കറിയാമോ? അലസന്മാരായി , സുവിശേഷം പങ്ക് വെക്കുന്നതിനെ പറ്റി ഒരിക്കലും ചിന്തിക്കാത്തവര്‍ എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ സാത്താനാല്‍ കീഴടക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ സജീവമായി കര്‍ത്താവിനെ സേവിക്കുന്നവര്‍ സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. എന്റെ യൗവ്വനകാലത്ത്, യുവാക്കള്‍ നേരിടുന്ന അനേകം പ്രലോഭനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് എന്നെ സംരക്ഷിച്ച കാര്യം ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ ഒഴിവു സമയങ്ങളിലധികവും ദൈവ വചനം പഠിക്കുന്നതിനും മറ്റ് വിശ്വാസികളുമായി കൂട്ടായ്മ ആചരിക്കുന്നതിനും , കര്‍ത്താവിനുവേണ്ടി സാക്ഷിയാകുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി ചെലവഴിച്ചു എന്നതായിരുന്നു എന്ന് ഞാന്‍ ഓര്‍ക്കുന്നു. ഞാന്‍ ലോക പ്രകാരമുള്ള ഒരു ജോലി ചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ ആഴ്ചയില്‍ രണ്ട് പ്രാവശ്യം കൊച്ചിയുടെ( ഞാന്‍ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന നഗരത്തില്‍) തെരുവീഥികളില്‍ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഏതാനും മണിക്കൂറുകള്‍ ഞാന്‍ ചിലവഴിക്കുമായിരുന്നു. അവിടെയുള്ള നേവല്‍ ബേസില്‍ ഞാന്‍ ജോലിചെയ്തിരുന്ന രണ്ട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ ആ നഗരത്തിലെ
ഏതാണ്ട് ഭൂരിഭാഗം തെരുവുകളും ഞാന്‍ തീര്‍ത്തിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. സുവിശേഷ ഘോഷണം നടത്തുക, ലഘുലേഖകള്‍ വിതരണം ചെയ്യുക, നാലോ അഞ്ചോ ആളുകളുള്ള ചെറിയ കൂട്ടങ്ങളുമായി ഭവനങ്ങളില്‍ സുവിശേഷം പങ്കുവെയ്ക്കുക, എന്നീ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്നെ തിരക്കുള്ളവനാക്കി നീര്‍ത്തുകയും അതുവഴി ഞാന്‍ അനേകം പ്രലോഭനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. നമുക്ക് ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാനില്ലാതെ ധാരാളം ഒഴിവു സമയം ഉണ്ടായാല്‍ അനേകം പ്രലോഭനങ്ങള്‍ നമ്മിലേക്ക് വരും അലസമായ മനസ്സ് വാസ്തവത്തില്‍ പിശാചിന്റെ പണിപ്പുരയാണ്. ദൈവവുമായുള്ള സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കുവാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ പാദങ്ങള്‍ എപ്പോഴും ഒരുക്കമുള്ളതായിരിക്കണം. അത് ഒന്ന് പരീക്ഷിച്ചു നോക്കുക എന്നിട്ട് ,സാത്താനോടുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തില്‍ അത് നിങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കുമോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്ന് കാണുക.

സര്‍വ്വായുധ വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ നാലാമത്തെ അംശം വിശ്വാസം എന്ന പരിചയാണ്. നമ്മെ ദൈവസ്‌നേഹത്തെ കുറിച്ച് സംശയമുള്ളവരാക്കി തീര്‍ക്കുക എന്നത് സാത്താന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ആയുധങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണ്. ഏഥനില്‍ ഹൗവ്വയ്ക്ക് നേരെ അവന്‍ വിക്ഷേപിച്ച മിസൈല്‍ ഇതാണ്. ദൈവം യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ അവളെ സ്‌നേഹിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇത്ര ആകര്‍ഷകമായ പഴം അവളില്‍ നിന്ന് മാറ്റി വെയ്ക്കുകയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്ന് അഭിപ്രായം പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് അവന്‍ സംശയത്തിന്റെ ഒരു വിത്ത് അവളുടെ മനസ്സില്‍ വിതച്ചു. അവള്‍ ആ മിസൈലിനടിയില്‍ വീണു. വിശ്വാസം എന്നത് ദൈവം നമ്മെ തീവ്രമായി സ്‌നേഹിക്കുന്നു.എന്നും , ഓരോ സാഹചര്യത്തിലും അവിടുന്നു നമുക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഏറ്റവും നല്ലത് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതും നാം പരാജയപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളപ്പോള്‍ പോലും അവിടുന്ന് നമ്മെ സ്‌നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അറിയുന്നതുമാണ്.അപ്പോള്‍ സാത്താന്റെ ഓരോ മിസൈലും കെട്ടുപോകും.

അഞ്ചാമത്തെ ഇനം സാത്താന്റെ വാളാണ്. യേശു എല്ലായ്‌പ്പോഴും സാത്താനെ ജയിച്ചത് ദൈവവചനം ഉദ്ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ്. ഹവ്വ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവിടുന്ന് സാത്താനുമായി ഒരു ചര്‍ച്ചയിലേക്ക് കടന്നില്ല. ദൈവം പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ള കാര്യം സാത്താനോട് പറയുക മാത്രം ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവിടുന്ന് എല്ലായിപ്പോഴും ജയിച്ചു. പ്രലോഭനത്തിന്റെ സമയത്ത് നാം ഇപ്രകാരമുള്ള വചനങ്ങള്‍ ഉദ്ധരിക്കണം. ‘എന്റെ കഴിവിനു മീതെ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാന്‍ ദൈവം എന്നെ അനുവദിക്കുകയില്ല (1 കൊരി 10:13), പാപത്തിന് എന്റെ മേല്‍ കര്‍തൃത്വം നടത്തുവാന്‍ കഴിയുകയില്ല (റോമ 6:14) ,വീഴാതെ വണ്ണം എന്നെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുവാന്‍ യേശു കഴിവുള്ളവനാണ് ( യൂദ 24)’. സാത്താനോട് ദൈവവചനം ഉദ്ധരിക്കുക അപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ യേശുവില്‍ നിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോയതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളില്‍ നന്നും ഓടിപ്പോകും ( യാക്കോബ് 4:7)

അവസാനമായി , നാം സമ്മുടെ സര്‍വ്വായുധ വര്‍ഗ്ഗം നന്നായി എണ്ണയിട്ട് സൂക്ഷിക്കണം. നാം അത് എങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യും.? ‘സകല പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയാലും യാചനയാലും ഏതു സമയത്തും ആത്മാവില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുക’ (എഫേ 6:18) ആത്മാവില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുക എന്നത് അറിയപ്പെടാത്ത ഭാഷയില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നതിനെയല്ല സൂചിപ്പിക്കുനത്. അന്യഭാഷയില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുക എന്നു പറയുന്നത് നമ്മുടെ ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ട് പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നതിനാണ്’ (1കൊരി14:15). ആത്മാവില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുക എന്നത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാല്‍ പ്രചോദിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രാര്‍ഥനയാണ് . നമ്മുടെ ജഡത്തിനാലല്ല നാം നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സിനെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാല്‍ പുതുക്കപ്പെടുവാനും. നമ്മുടെ നാവിനെ അവിടുത്തെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനു വിധേയപ്പെടുത്തുവാനും അനുവദിക്കുമെങ്കില്‍ നാം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കും. പൗലൊസ് പറയുന്നു. വിശേഷാല്‍ എനിക്ക് വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിപ്പിന്‍ ( ഐഫേ 6:19)കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ യുദ്ധങ്ങളില്‍ മുന്നണിയില്‍ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്ന കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി നാം പ്രത്യേകമായി പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.

ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സര്‍വ്വായുധ വര്‍ഗ്ഗം കൊണ്ട് പാതാള ഗോപുരങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ ജയോത്സവമാകത്തക്കവിധത്തില്‍ നമുക്ക് കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ശരീരം പണിയാന്‍ കഴിയും.

Taking a Stand for God

God is always looking for at least one man in a place, to take a stand for Him (as we read in Ezekiel 22:30). He found an Enoch at one time, then a Noah, then an Abraham, and later on an Elijah and a John the Baptist etc.

In Babylon, he found a Daniel. Although the Bible mentions Daniel's three friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (who were later renamed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) in Daniel 1:7, yet it says in Daniel 1:8 that it was Daniel alone "who determined in his heart that he would not defile himself". It was only then that the other three also had the courage to take a stand. There are many Hananiahs, Mishaels and Azariahs among believers in many places in the world, who do not have the courage to take a stand for the Lord on their own, but who will take a stand, if a Daniel arises in their midst and takes a stand for the Lord. So determine to be a ‘Daniel’ for the Lord, wherever you are.

We see something similar – but evil – on the opposite side as well. There were many angels in heaven initially who probably had some simmering discontent within them about something or the other. But they did not have the courage to start a rebellion until a Lucifer arose in their midst. When Lucifer (the head of the angels) expressed his rebellion, immediately one-third of the angels joined him (Rev.12:4). Those millions of angels were all cast out by God along with Lucifer – and they are the demons who possess people today. It is an eternal principle with God that he "removes the proud, exulting ones and leaves behind a humble, lowly people everywhere” (Zeph. 3:11, 12). This was how He cleansed the heavens long ages ago – and this is how He cleanses the church today as well.

There are two movements going on simultaneously in the world now: The Daniels are gathering the twos and the threes to take a stand for the Lord; and the Lucifers are gathering their millions to lead people to impurity, to rebellion against authority and to disobedience to God's commandments. But it is the two or three with the Daniels who will win finally – because even one person with God is always a majority. If God does not get a Daniel in a locality, then the Devil will get someone to lead the people in his way. So it is essential that you become a Daniel in your place for God – one who begins by determining in your heart that you will not defile yourself by disobeying even the smallest of God's commandments, and that you will take a stand for Him, even if you are cast into a lion's den.
