Ss.Gervasis&Prothasis were the twin sons of Vitalis&Valeria.a highly respected couple of those times.The twins were popularly and reverently known as Kantheesangal (syr

iac name means Saints).when persecution of Christians was a policy of the Roman Empire,Their parents Vitalis&Valeria,who embraced Christianity,were persecuted and Martyred. Later, the young twins Were brought before the RomanGovernor, Who asked them to denounce Christian faith and Were sentenced to death as they refused to do so. In 4th century, their grave was exacavted and their "blood-stained bodies were stated to have been found". The feast of these Saints is celebrated On 19th of June.The parish of Kothanalloor also celebrates it on the same day with a spectacular get-together of TWINS all over the State of Kerala...
