ഫാ. തിയോഫിനെ 'ധന്യനായി' പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു; ഇന്ത്യൻ കപ്പൂച്ചിൻ സഭയ്ക്ക് ചരിത്ര നിമിഷം

വത്തിക്കാൻ സിറ്റി/കൊച്ചി: ഭാരതത്തിലെ കപ്പൂച്ചിൻ സഭയിൽ നിന്ന് വിശുദ്ധ പദവിയിലേക്കുള്ള നാമകരണ നടപടികളിൽ ചരിത്രപരമായ മുന്നേറ്റം. കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ കോട്ടപ്പുറം സ്വദേശിയായ ദൈവദാസൻ ഫാ. തിയോഫിനെ 'ധന്യൻ' (Venerable) ആയി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉത്തരവിൽ വത്തിക്കാനിൽ ലിയോ പതിനാലാമൻ പാപ്പ ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യൻ കപ്പൂച്ചിൻ സഭയിൽ നിന്ന് ഈ പദവിയിലെത്തുന്ന ആദ്യത്തെ വൈദികനും ഇദ്ദേഹമാണ് . 1913-ൽ ജനിച്ച്, 1941-ൽ പൗരോഹിത്യം സ്വീകരിച്ച ഫാ. തിയോഫിൻ തന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും കൊച്ചിയിലെ പൊന്നുരുന്നി കപ്പൂച്ചിൻ ആശ്രമത്തിലാണ് ചെലവഴിച്ചത്. 2005-ൽ 'ദൈവദാസനായി' പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കപ്പെട്ട അദ്ദേഹം, ലാളിത്യം നിറഞ്ഞ ജീവിതത്തിലൂടെയും പ്രാർത്ഥനാ തീക്ഷ്ണതയിലൂടെയും പതിനായിരങ്ങൾക്ക് ആത്മീയ വഴികാട്ടിയായിരുന്നു.
