The street dwellers in general have been neglected, sidelined and completely ignored by many. Whenever this topic arose, some considered it as "government's headache not mine" while some considered as "their own problem, not mine". But is it really just a topic to debate and ignore? Is it not a collective duty to look after the least privileged?
Some naysayers said House of Hope couldn't do it, some said street children won't go far ahead in their lives, while some said our goals are too big to achieve.
But look at them! They rightly deserve all the opportunities they are now given, why would they have been deprived of a roof on their head, three proper meals a day, books on their hands, and such big smiles on their faces? These girls have been given a chance to dream and aspire to achieve, and these girls do not have to worry about being married off as they become teens. These girls are God's sent and have purpose to fulfil.
Most of the girls are new at the home (boarding) and they're already showing exceptional learning aptitude and are behaving marvelously well. And these girls are among the first of their generations to attain education and taste fundamental rights to their lives. This is their story.
