On 17 May 2026, SOME PEXCO members of Mother Teresa's Church - Dum Dum, Kolkata attended the Training of Trainers (ToT) organized by the DEXCO of ICYM Calcutta, of Archdiocese of Calcutta at the Archbishop’s House, bringing together enthusiastic youth participants for a day of learning, interaction, and leadership development. The programme opened with an ice-breaking session that encouraged introductions and lively interaction, helping participants connect and set a positive tone for the day. Mr. Lawrence Biswas, the resource person, led a clear and informative session on the ICYM structure, explaining various office-bearer positions and their roles, which provided useful orientation for those new to the organisation. Ms. Angela Perris, the diocesan youth director, delivered a focused session on leadership, sharing insights and strategies to empower young leaders within their communities. A special panel, featuring Archbishop Elias Frank, provided a valuable opportunity for the youth to pose questions and receive thoughtful responses from senior leadership. Overall, the experience proved to be an enriching experience that combined structure, practical exercises, and friendly dialogue to equip young participants for greater involvement in church and community life.

🌹 Feast of Our Lady of Fatima & St. Mary Mazzarello 🌸

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima and lovingly remember St. Mary Mazzarello, two beautiful lights of faith who continue to inspire the Church and the world.

At Fatima, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to the three shepherd children with a message of prayer, repentance, peace, and conversion. She called all people to pray the Holy Rosary daily and to trust completely in God’s mercy and love.

On this special day, we also honour St. Mary Mazzarello, co-founder of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, whose life reflected simplicity, humility, joyful service, and deep devotion to Jesus and Mother Mary. Through her love and dedication towards the young, she became a shining example of holiness in everyday life.

May Our Lady of Fatima and St. Mary Mazzarello intercede for us, strengthen our faith, guide our families, and help us become instruments of peace, love, and service in the world. 🙏🏻✨

“O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”

Mother’s Day Celebration at Mother Teresa’s Church

Mother Teresa's Church - Dum Dum, Kolkata celebrated Mother’s Day with a heartwarming program dedicated to the pillars of our families and community. The day was filled with prayer, talent, and deep appreciation for all mothers.

A Spirit of Prayer and Word

The celebration commenced with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration, emphasizing the sacrificial love of mothers, mirrored in the grace of the Church. In a beautiful tribute to their role as the first teachers of faith, the Liturgy of the Word was led entirely by mothers from the parish. Their soulful readings brought a unique depth to the morning’s scripture.

Tributes in Motion and Melody

The youth and children of the parish took center stage to express their gratitude through the arts:

1. A Graceful Tribute: The parish youth performed a Special Dance, choreographed to celebrate the strength and elegance of motherhood.
2. Voices of Innocence: The Sunday Class students moved the congregation with a Special Song, their voices harmonizing in a sweet "thank you" to their moms.
3. Words from the Heart: A Sunday Class student recited a Special Poem, capturing the everyday miracles performed by mothers, leaving many in the pews visibly moved.

Blessings and Sweet Tokens

As the service drew to a close, a Special Blessing was invoked upon all mothers present. The Parish Priest led the congregation in prayer, asking for continued strength, health, and joy for them.

To end the day on a sweet note, every mother was gifted chocolates as a small token of the parish’s immense love and appreciation. Thank you to everyone who made today’s Mother’s Day celebration so special.

And dear mother's, just remember,
"To the world, you are a mother. To our parish, you are the world."

Celebrating 45 Years of Faithfulness

Today, our hearts are full of gratitude as we celebrate the 45th Ordination Anniversary of Father Joy. Forty-five years ago, he courageously said "Yes" to Jesus, embarking on a lifelong journey of service, sacrifice, and profound love for the Church. Since that pivotal moment, Father Joy has been a steady shepherd, guiding us through our darkest valleys and sharing in our greatest triumphs with his gentle spirit and unwavering faith.

We invite you all to join us in a special prayer of thanksgiving for him today. May the Lord continue to bless him with abundant strength, joy, and peace as he continues his mission. Thank you, Father Joy, for your decades of devotion, for your "Yes" that has touched so many lives, and for being a living reflection of Christ’s love among us.

There was a small celebration organised by the youth today where Father, and his sister were present. Let us keep praying for all our Priests.

Congratulations on 45 beautiful years of priesthood! 🕊️✨
