Giri Nandini

Giri Nandini 'Giri Nandini' is a humble attempt to spread the glory of Maa Durga among people across the globe.

Around 350 years ago Chittagong, Bangladesh witnessed the remarkable beginning of the very famous Banik legacy's first ever Durga Puja. Back in time due to unfavorable circumstances in Bangladesh, the Puja faced disruptive impediments. With the blessings of the Almighty,
Sri Swapan Chandra Banik based in Calcutta, India decided to carry forward the legacy here in Bengal at his own house, 'Bishnu C

hhaya Durgabari'. Ever since the Puja has continued at both Bangladesh and Calcutta celebrating the glory of Maa Durga with all it's grandeur .

'Giri Nandini' is a humble attempt of the members of 'Bishnu Chhaya Durgabari' to carry forward the heritage and traditions of the Banik lineage and share the moments of festivity among people spanning across various geographical boundaries.

नीलाद्रौ शङ्खमध्ये शतदलकमले रत्नसिंहासनस्थं ।
सर्वालङ्कारयुक्तं नवघनरुचिरं संयुतं चाग्रजेन ।
भद्रायां वामभागे रथचरणयुतं ब्रह्मरुद्रेन्द्रवन्द्यं ।
देवानां सारमीशं स्वजनपरिवृतं ब्रह्मदारुं नमामि ॥
