Bhagwad Gita tells: As we are innately pleasure-seeking, we can’t stay detached for long from things that promise pleasure. Bhakti-yoga directs our attachment towards the one object that delivers lasting fulfillment: all-attractive Krishna, our Lord whose parts we are eternally.
Even if we aren’t pure enough to relish absorption in Krishna, bhakti-yoga still helps. Bhakti wisdom helps us understand that Krishna is the supreme unchanging reality. And bhakti practice enables us to focus on him, thereby infusing our consciousness with sublime stability.

Bhagwad Gita tells: When faced with problems, we can replace our default pointing fingers at others with conscientious moving of our fingers on our prayer beads. By thus connecting with Krishna, we can outgrow resentment and respond to the problem wisely.

The Gita (18.45) assures that everyone can attain perfection by working according to one's nature. The more we play our part, the more we realize life to be a celebration.

How celebration? Because we see every situation as an opportunity to express and experience love – love for Krishna and love for others in relationship with him. To love Krishna and relish joy therein, we don’t need to be better than others; we just need to be the best we can be, in a mood of devotional service. We just need to make our loving contribution, based on our own distinctive constellation of talents and interests.

Q: How to attain the Liberation?

A: The Gita (08.10) indicates that yoga practice infused with devotion makes the mind acala and leads to liberation. This implies that those who can make the mind fixed, as is the soul, attain .
Bhakti-yoga helps the mind focus on the supremely steady spiritual reality, Krishna. And as is unlimited, the soul can wander freely and joyfully within the vast nectar-ocean of Krishna’s glories, thereby relishing the ultimate liberation that is not static but is ecstatic.

Q: How the fickle mind makes the immovable soul move all over the universe?

A: The soul's mobility (14.18) is asserted in the Gita chapter about the three modes of material nature. These modes infect the mind, infatuating it with various worldly objects as sources of . And this infatuated mind drives the soul to seek from one object to another, from one body to another, from one planet to another. The same soul that can't be moved by any material force can be moved by its own will. And it abdicates this willto the mind on buying into the latter's notions of pleasure. Thus, the immoveable is misled by the mind all over the universe.

How a timely pull can save us from a deadly fall?

As a rider travels the terrain using the horse, we souls traverse material existence using a horse-like tool – our mind. The mind integrates the inputs from the senses and conveys our intentions to the senses. The way a timely pull can control the horse, so too can timely restrain control the mind. When such restraint is neglected, the thought grows into a desire, which then grows into an intention, thereby sentencing us to self-sabotage. Just as a rider on a wild horse meets a deadly fall, so too does a seeker with a wild mind falls to unworthy sensual indulgences.

However, we can protect ourselves from all this peril and pain. How? By exercising due vigilance in checking the mind’s distractions and focusing it on our higher purposes, especially the highest purpose of devotional service to our all-attractive Lord.
