Established in 1968, one of the oldest, well known, holy and spiritually enshrined temple, situated at the heart of Baranagar Bazaar, a land of Swami Vivekananda and Shri Ramakrishna, near the gorge of Ganges, Tarak Bhola Mandir, is a Religious Organization. It was founded by Baba Basudev, who was spiritually blessed, being born in a stormy auspicious night of Janmashtami. He was the eighth and beloved son of Shrimati Kalitara Devi. The temple consists of the idols of Baba Bholenath, Devi Annapurna and Maa Janani, who was the dear mother of Baba Basudev. Tarak Bhola Mandir functions under a firm principle as had been provided by the honourable founder Baba Basudev, which says, “Love humanity. Do something good for humankind.” Throughout his life, Baba Basudev was determined in serving people with no expectations of earnings in return from them or for whose well-being he had worked. He devoted his entire life in providing aid to the underprivileged or disadvantaged ones as also to those who were suffering from a variety of breath-taking diseases and almost lost every single hope for survival. Till today his followers firmly believes in working for the goodness of humankind and particularly for the impoverished ones. There are innumerable instances of people with various dreadful diseases, who visited the temple with all their devotions and dedications, and with the utmost faith of getting cured and surprisingly, got utterly healed, even after receiving an ultimatum of demise, simply just by following the advice of Baba Basudev. Formerly, after the demise of beloved and Honorable, Baba Basudev, in the year 2014, following his guided pathway and teachings, as also with his blessings, under his instructions such a noble initiative is carried out by his nephew. Following the life principle of his spiritually blessed uncle Honorable Baba Basudev, he kept the glory and objectives of Tarak Bhola Mandir intact. Baba Basudev exclusively authorized his nephew with the supreme duty of carrying out his well-being works towards the followers as also for the society. Tarak Bhola Mandir, right from the time of its existence till the contemporary time, works for humankind with an ultimate intent of serving the humanity and aims to provide a healthy and fulfilled future to the society without any expectations of itself in return except pure faith, devotion and dedications.
