On this solemn Good Friday, our parish gathered to walk the path of the Cross with the Lord. Beginning with the Stations of the Cross, we followed Him who said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24), entering prayerfully into the mystery of His saving Passion.
In the sacred liturgy, the Liturgy of the Word proclaimed the story of the Suffering Servant, for “He was pierced for our transgressions… and by His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). The Solemn Intercessions lifted the needs of the whole world to the mercy of God, echoing the prayer of Christ who “always lives to make intercession for us” (Hebrews 7:25).
With reverence, we approached the Veneration of the Holy Cross, with songs, adoring the wood on which hung the Saviour of the world, mindful of His words: “When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself” (John 12:32). Nourished by Holy Communion, we received the fruits of His sacrifice, remembering that “Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7).
We concluded by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, beginning the Novena of trust in the boundless mercy flowing from the Heart of Jesus: “One of the soldiers pierced His side… and at once there came out blood and water” (John 19:34). As St. Faustina reminds us, “Jesus, I trust in You.”
A day of silence, reverence, and redeeming love.
