"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
— Romans 8:14

On this Holy feast of Pentecost, we remember the mighty descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles — the divine moment when the Gospel began to be preached to every nation and tongue.

May the same Spirit guide, sanctify, and strengthen the Church today and always.

Happy Birthday to the Holy Catholic Church.

St. Francis Xavier's Church Bowbazar celebrates Mother's Day with Exuberance Joy.
It is rightly said that God couldn't be present everywhere and that's why He created Mothers to make His Love and Happiness felt. No matter come what may, Mothers risk their lives to give birth to a child; she spends sleepless nights to bring up the child and above all she makes sure that everything is fine with her child through every storm of life. We salute all our Mother's today and everyday, for their selfless life and sole goal of building the family.
As the Disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit; With tenderness and compassion they served the people. Similarly every Mother is filled with the Holy Spirit, she serves with tenderness and compassion, making a dwelling place in her heart for her children.
Jesus himself invites us , " that I may find a dwelling in you so that my joy may be complete".
The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration with the Soulful singing of the Choir and the active participation of the Mothers, along with the enthusiastic Recitation and Singing of the Children and Youth, with their artistically drawn 'Mother's Day Card' , with the Holy picture of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and Gifts from the Parish Priest, made the Mother's Day Celebration a meaningful and memorable one.
Congratulations to all . It's wonderful and commendable praying, working and celebrating life together as a Parish. Let us Love Jesus. Let us Live Jesus. Amen

St. Francis Xavier's Church Bowbazar with the Pastoral Visit of Archbishop Elias Frank, truly experienced the
"shepherd with the smell of the sheep".
His visit to the Poor and Elderly Sick persons Anointing and giving them Holy Communion; meeting the Street Children and having Tea and Dinner with our Religious Communities, spending quality time with them and the Parishioners is commendable. Our Parish has been rejuvenated by the Visit of the Archbishop. The Confirmees have been truly blessed by the Shepherd and it was indeed a fitting way of celebrating, "Good Shepherd -Vocation Sunday". We remain grateful and look forward to the visit of the Archbishop.

Today our parish rejoiced in the radiant hope of Divine Mercy Sunday—the day when the Church contemplates the boundless love flowing from the Heart of Christ for the whole world. Instituted by Pope John Paul II and entrusted to the message of Saint Faustina Kowalska, this feast reminds us that no sin is greater than God’s mercy, and no soul is beyond His embrace.

On this day, we gaze upon the Risen Lord who comes not with judgment, but with wounds that shine like rays of mercy—calling us to trust, to repent, and to become instruments of compassion in a wounded world. Divine Mercy Sunday invites us to step into the mystery of grace where justice is fulfilled in love and forgiveness becomes the path to new life.

From the pages of the Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul, we hear Christ’s tender promise:
“The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy.” And again He assures us: “On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy.”

May words of our Lord renew our trust, inspire us to practice mercy in our daily lives, and help us echo the prayer that resounded in every heart today:

Jesus, I trust in You.

On this glorious Easter Sunday, St. Francis Xavier's parish community rejoiced in the triumph of life over death and light over darkness. With hearts full of hope, we proclaimed the joyful truth: “He is not here; He has risen, as He said” (Matthew 28:6).

In the Holy Eucharist, we rejoiced in the fulfillment of God’s promise, for “Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:20). The empty tomb stands as the everlasting sign that sin and death do not have the final word, and that a new creation has begun in Him.

As St. John Paul II reminds us, “We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song.” May the joy of the Resurrection fill every heart with peace, faith, and new life. Alleluia!

On this solemn Good Friday, our parish gathered to walk the path of the Cross with the Lord. Beginning with the Stations of the Cross, we followed Him who said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24), entering prayerfully into the mystery of His saving Passion.

In the sacred liturgy, the Liturgy of the Word proclaimed the story of the Suffering Servant, for “He was pierced for our transgressions… and by His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). The Solemn Intercessions lifted the needs of the whole world to the mercy of God, echoing the prayer of Christ who “always lives to make intercession for us” (Hebrews 7:25).

With reverence, we approached the Veneration of the Holy Cross, with songs, adoring the wood on which hung the Saviour of the world, mindful of His words: “When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself” (John 12:32). Nourished by Holy Communion, we received the fruits of His sacrifice, remembering that “Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7).

We concluded by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, beginning the Novena of trust in the boundless mercy flowing from the Heart of Jesus: “One of the soldiers pierced His side… and at once there came out blood and water” (John 19:34). As St. Faustina reminds us, “Jesus, I trust in You.”

A day of silence, reverence, and redeeming love.

On the sacred night of Maundy Thursday, St. Francis Xavier's Parish Community entered reverently into the mystery of the Lord’s Supper — the night on which divine love revealed itself in service, sacrifice, and abiding presence.

We contemplated the Institution of the Eucharist, when our Lord broke the bread and shared the cup, saying: “Do this in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19–20). In this holy gift, Christ remains with His Church as the Bread of Life and the everlasting Covenant of grace.

In the Washing of the Feet, we beheld the humility of the Master who stooped to serve, teaching us by His own example: “I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you” (John 13:15). His command resounds through the ages: “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34).

In silent Adoration at the Altar of Repose, we kept watch with the Lord in the spirit of Gethsemane, hearing His tender question: “Could you not watch with me one hour?” (Matthew 26:40).

Thus begins the Sacred Triduum — a night of love poured out, humility embraced, and hearts awakened to prayerful vigil.

Hosanna in the highest, O King of glory,
We remember this holy day when You entered the city in humility, riding not in the chariot of conquerors, but upon the c**t of peace, while the crowds spread their cloaks on the road & lifted branches of palm like banners of hope.
Blessed are You who comes in the name of the Lord. You came not to claim a throne of gold, but to walk the path of suffering love; not to be served, but to serve, & to give Your life as a ransom for many. As the children once cried “Hosanna,” let our hearts also sing with living faith. Make us faithful pilgrims who welcome you, not only with palms in our hands, but with surrender in our souls. When our praises fade and the road grows dark, keep us steadfast beside You. Teach us to follow from the waving branches to the shadow of the cross, trusting that beyond sorrow blooms the dawn of resurrection.
Enter our homes, O gentle King;
Enter our hearts, O Prince of Peace.
Reign in us today and forever.
Amen.

PALM SUNDAY CELEBRATION AT SFXC, BOWBAZAR.
On a bright and pleasant morning, the Pilgrim People of St. Francis Xavier's Church, Bowbazar assembled at St. George's School Ground to participate in the Palm Sunday Procession. The Saturday Evening Mass, The Sunday Mass at Chinese Chapel and in the Church, wore a beautiful look with enthusiastic people proclaiming Christ as King, keeping in mind the theme of the celebration, " *Celebrating the Triumphant Entry of Jesus in our Lives, in our Families and in the World at large".
Hearkening to the voice of St. Paul, "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord"- this is how we proclaim Christ in our lives by worshipping, glorifying and thanking God. Jesus, dwells in our hearts and we need to rejoice in His Love and Mercy. This is our Identity as true Christians. Let us Love Jesus; Let us Live Jesus. Amen
