nkal Bhagwati and this idol is believed to be growing still. Devi temples facing the northern side are very few in Kerala Bhadrakali in her Ugrabhava, here facet to the northern end. The Vaidik system says, Kali when faces the northern side itself gives her a fierce form, Kodum Kali, a splendid unique bhava. Other than the main deity of Bhadrakali, Sri Mahavishnu, Sri Sivan, Sri Ayyappan, Brahmarakshas, Nagaraja & Nagayakshi, Alunkal Bhagawathi are all sub deities herein.
