The Power of Faith*

The essence of our Christian life is faith. Our identity is that of a believer. In the past few days, we have learned and understood how important faith is. May the Lord lead us to deeper convictions.

1. We are *saved* by faith. Eph. 2:8
2. Justified by faith. Rom. 5:1
3. Sanctified by faith. Acts 15:9. 26:18 .
4. We live by faith. Gal. 3:17
5. By faith, Christ dwells in our hearts. Eph. 3:17
6. By faith, we have access to the presence of God. Eph. 3:12
7. It is by faith that we inherit the promises. Heb. 6:12
8. We must be those who have faith in God. Mark 11:22
9. Faith is a shield of defense. Eph. 6:16
10. Faith is the shield 1Thess. 5:4
11. Faith overcomes the world. 1John 5:4.
12. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Heb. 11:6.

*Faith and Healing*

During His public ministry, the Lord Jesus Christ healed many sick people, cast out demons, and raised the dead. Mark 1:32-34. These miraculous acts were demonstrations of His divine love and great mercy. But it can be seen that Jesus healed those who came to Him with faith. God's system of faith never changes.

Faith saves:

The Lord Jesus' declaration, "Your faith has saved you," is world-famous. We can see it on three occasions in the Gospel accounts.

1. The woman with the issue of bleeding.( Hemorrhage))9:22, Mark 5:34 . Col. 8:48

2. Bartimaeus who was blind. Mark 10:52, Luke. 18:42

3. One of the ten lepers (Luke 17:19

Meditate deeply on the faith of the woman with the issue of blood and make your own note.

FAITH*

*What is faith?*

Faith is complete trust in God. _"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."_Hbr.11:1.

Faith is the most important and fundamental element in Christian principles. The Word of God says: "But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6 '

The mark of every person who becomes a disciple of Jesus was his faith.

Why is it said that faith is necessary to draw close to God? We have already seen that faith is trust in God. However, this trust in God was lost when man sinned. The first humans, Adam and Eve, sinned and lost their trust in God. . Caught in Satan's deception, they disbelieved in God. They disbelieved in God's love. They disbelieved in God's promises. They rejected God's command and disobeyed God. Thus, they became distant from God.

In order for a person who has lost his trust (faith) in God and has become distant from God to return to God, there is only one condition. *Faith!* No one can return to God except through faith. Faith operates beyond the five senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.

True faith is to abandon self-reliance and rely completely on Almighty God, to listen to and obey His words. Faith is perfected through obedience.

*Faith and Salvation:* Salvation is obtained by faith.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith..." Eph.2:8

Salvation through Jesus is by grace, but it is available to humans only through faith

Jesus Christ exhorted the people about the need for faith during His public ministry.

Mark 1:15
"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

"To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:18

"He who believes in him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

John 5:24

"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."

John 6:47

"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life."

"John 6:35 Jesus said to them,

"I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."

Nourished by the World of God*

" *I have found and eaten your words; your words have become to me the joy and delight of my heart ......* Jer. 15:16.

Our lives require food and water for survival. If the body does not receive proper nutrition, the functions of muscles and organs will be impaired and serious health problems will arise. It is through food that we get the energy we need for our daily activities. In addition, nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals that are necessary for the natural functions of the body are obtained through the food we eat. Food is essential for the construction of cells and their repair, the growth of muscles, bones, and other organs, and for overall health. Lack of food can lead to health decline, the body becomes weak and sickly, and eventually death.

This is also true in spiritual matters. Spiritual nutrition is essential for one's spiritual health and growth. How do we receive spiritual energy and nourishment? We receive life, strength, and nourishment from the true Word of God. In addition, the Word gives us joy, peace, and satisfaction. That is what Jeremiah 15:17 says.
1 Peter 2:2 describes the Word as pure milk. Just as milk is essential for the growth of a baby, so the milk that is the Word is essential for spiritual growth.

The Word is not only milk but also solid food. But only those who have reached maturity can absorb it. ( 1 Cor. 3: 2 , Heb. 5:12-14.
We should strive to grow spiritually day by day by being nourished by the Word of God. Read, study, meditate, and obey the Word.

Sanctification throgh the Word of God.*

The Word of God leads us to sanctification. John 17:17. Gospel of John chapter 17 is known as the High Priestly Prayer of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is our High Priest. Heb. 2:17, 3:1, 4:14-16, 7:26, 9:11
Here, Christ prays to the Father on behalf of his disciples: _"Sanctify them through the truth." What is that truth? " Your word is truth*.

What is sanctification? How does it work? How is sanctification different from justification?

When a person hears the gospel and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, accepts Christ as his Savior, repents of his sin, and turns to God , he is justified. Rom. 3:23-24; 5:1 .
Justification is a one-time experience. But sanctification is not like that. It is a lifelong process. It begins with justification. That is, sanctification is a spiritual process that begins with justification and continues until the end of life. The ultimate result of this is glorification. Glorification is the transformation that we will receive at the return of Christ. The Bible teaches us that at His appearing our flesh will be transformed and conformed to the Lord. (1 John 3:2, Phil. 3:20-21, 1 Cor. 15:52) "This is our blessed hope." (Titus 2:12) "And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." 1 John 3:3. Let us see how this is possible. Note Psalm 119:9: "How can a child purify his ways?" *_According to your word_* *By keeping it."*
We who have been saved by grace have been set free from sin and have become partakers of the divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4. But through justification we have only been set free from the penalty of sin. Then we need deliverance from the power of sin. That is possible through sanctification. We receive this experience by hearing (reading) and obeying the word of God. This does not happen in a day; rather, it is a long process. It is received day by day.

Those who are thus sanctified will be caught up at the coming of the Lord and inherit the kingdom of God. Then we will receive deliverance from the presence of sin.

The Work of the Word of God*

1. We are born again by the Word of God. The Bible says: "You have been born again, not of perishable seed but of the living and enduring _*word of God*_." Pet ' 1:23

What is being born again? Being born again is a radical transformation in the spirit. We are born again by the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. The basis for this is the passage in John 3:3-7. Jesus said to Nicodemus: "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

A man who is born in the flesh and lives in the flesh is dead in sin. He is subject to judgment. But because of the inner transformation that comes to him through faith in Jesus Christ and the power of the word of God and the Holy Spirit, he is freed from judgment and enters into a new life. Ultimately, he enters into eternal life. This is freedom from sin. (Romans 6:18) "If anyone is in Christ He is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, all things have become new." 2 Cor. 5:17.

The Epistle of James says: "Of his own will he begat us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Jas. 1:18.
