Devi sahayam temple: Amman kovil

Devi sahayam temple: Amman kovil This temple was originally run by members of the Puthenveedu family belonging to Ernakulam city. Presently, Devi Temple Trust manages the Temple.

This temple was originally run by the Puthenveedu Family. The property was gifted to the family nearly 500 years ago by the Kochi Maharaja as a token of appreciation for their undying loyalty and service to the Maharaja. It is said that the deities worshipped in this temple were originally prayed to by the family back in Thiruvananthapuram before they moved to Ernakulam. It is believed that the tw

o devi Goddesses travelled great distances to reconnect with their worshippers. Once word spread about sightings of the Goddesses around the area, the temple was constructed with the permission of the Kochi Maharaja. Karuppasamy, Madasamy and Mariamman are worshipped at this temple. Every year, Meena Bharani and Prathista Utsavam are celebrated at the temple.
