ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥
Shalok, Third Mehla:

ਏ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਭਾਇ ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ
O mind, meditate on the Dear Lord, with single-minded conscious concentration.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਦੇਇ ਨ ਪਛੋਤਾਇ ॥
ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕੇ ਪਛੁਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ।
The glorious greatness of the Lord shall last forever and ever; He never regrets what He gives.

ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਹਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ
I am forever a sacrifice to the Lord; serving Him, peace is obtained.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜਨ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
O Nanak, the Gurmukh remains merged with the Lord; he burns away his ego through the Word of the Shabad. ||1||

ਮਃ ੩ ॥
Third Mehla:

ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He Himself enjoins us to serve Him, and He Himself blesses us with forgiveness.

ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਮਾ ਪਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He Himself is the father and mother of all; He Himself cares for us.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੨।
O Nanak, those who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abide in the home of their inner being; they are honored throughout the ages. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥
Pauree:

ਤੂ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹਹਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਮੈ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਣ-ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈਂ; ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ;
You are the Creator, all-powerful, able to do anything. Without You, there is no other at all.

ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਸਿਰਜੀਆ ਆਪੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਣ-ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈਂ; ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ;
You Yourself created the world, and You Yourself shall destroy it in the end.

ਸਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ (ਹਰੀ ਦਾ) ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
The Word of Your Shabad alone is pervading everywhere; whatever You do, comes to pass.

ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
God blesses the Gurmukh with glorious greatness, and then, he finds the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਸਭਿ ਆਖਹੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨੯॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਾਰੇ ਆਖੋ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ, ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ।੨੯।੧। ਸੁਧੁ ।
As Gurmukh, Nanak worships and adores the Lord; let everyone proclaim, ""Blessed, blessed, blessed is He, the Guru!""||29||1||Sudh||

ਗੁਰੂਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਭਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੁਸਰੋਪੁਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ।

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥
Shalok, Third Mehla:

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਣੁ ਦੰਤਾ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਅਪਣੱਤ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਹ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਿ ਏਹ ਸ਼ੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਧਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈ,) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ
The love of Maya is enticing; without teeth, it has eaten up the world.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਖਾਧੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
ਮਨਮੁਖ (ਇਸ ‘ਮਮਤਾ’ ਵਿਚ) ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ ।
The self-willed manmukhs are eaten away, while the Gurmukhs are saved; they focus their consciousness on the True Name.

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਗੁ ਕਮਲਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਮਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
Without the Name, the world wanders around insane; the Gurmukhs come to see this.

ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤਿਆ ਨਿਹਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕਜ਼ੀਏ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਨੱੁਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ।
Involved in worldly affairs, he wastes his life in vain; the peace-giving Lord does not come to abide in his mind.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ (ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ) ਉੱਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।
O Nanak, they alone obtain the Name, who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||1||

Soohee, First Mehla, Kaafee, Tenth House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਮਾਣਸ ਜਨਮੁ ਦੁਲੰਭੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ।
For if you depart with virtue, then pain shall never afflict you. ||5||

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਚੁਲੰਭੁ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ) ਤਾਂ (ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਉਸ ਮਨੱੁਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ) ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ।੧।
The mind and body are dyed in the deep red color of devotional love, if it pleases the True Guru. ||1||

ਚਲੈ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਵਖਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਲੈ ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਡਰ ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਸੌਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਝਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He departs with his life embellished and successful, taking the merchandise of the True Name.

ਪਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਭੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ
He is honored in the Darbaar, the Royal Court, of the Lord, through the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, and the Fear of God. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
One who praises the True Lord with his mind and body, pleases the Mind of the True Lord.

ਲਾਲਿ ਰਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਲਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ।੨।
Attuned to the Beloved Lord, the mind is appeased, and finds the Perfect Guru. ||2||

ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂ ਵਸੈ ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੰੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਪਏਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜ ਜਾਏ,
I live, by cherishing Your Glorious Virtues; You dwell deep within me.

ਤੂੰ ਵਸਹਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਸਿ ਰਸੈ ॥੩॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੌਲ ਪਏ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ “ਤੂ ਹੀ ਤੂ” ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ।੩।
You dwell within my mind, and so it naturally celebrates in joyful delight. ||3||

ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ ਸਮਝਾਇ ਆਖਉ ਕੇਤੜਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਕੁ ਸਮਝਾ ਸਮਝਾ ਕੇ ਦੱਸਾਂ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ,
O my foolish mind, how can I teach and instruct you?

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੇਤੜਾ ॥੪॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ) ।੪।
As Gurmukh, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and so become attuned to His Love. ||4||

ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਆਪਣਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ।
Continually, continuously, remember and cherish your Beloved Lord in your heart.

ਜੇ ਚਲਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਲਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪਣਾ ॥੫॥
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਚੰਗੇ) ਗੁਣ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਨ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ) ਤੁਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਗਾ ।੫।
For if you depart with virtue, then pain shall never afflict you. ||5||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੈ ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ।
The self-willed manmukh wanders around, deluded by doubt; he does not enshrine love for the Lord.

ਮਰਸੀ ਹੋਇ ਵਿਡਾਣਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਉਹ ਨਿਖਸਮਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੬।
He dies as a stranger to his own self, and his mind and body are spoiled. ||6||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ਲਾਹਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਣਿਆ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਕਾਰ (ਭਗਤੀ) ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਆਂਦਾ ।
Performing service to the Guru, you shall go home with the profit.

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਵਾਸਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ।੭।
Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, and the Shabad, the Word of God, the state of Nirvaanaa is attained. ||7||

ਇਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਸੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਭੀ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਸੰਦ ਆ ਜਾੲ।
Nanak makes this one prayer: if it pleases Your Will,

ਮੈ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਸੀ ॥੮॥੧॥੩॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਹ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ।੮।੧।੩।
bless me with a home in Your Name, Lord, that I may sing Your Glorious Praises. ||8||1||3||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਪਾਠੁ ਪੜਿਓ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਨਿਵਲਿ ਭੁਅੰਗਮ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੇਦ (ਆਦਿਕ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕ ਨੂੰ) ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿਵਲੀਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਕੁੰਡਲਨੀ ਨਾੜੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ
They read scriptures, and contemplate the Vedas; they practice the inner cleansing techniques of Yoga, and control of the breath.

ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਛੁਟਕਿਓ ਅਧਿਕ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਬਾਧੇ ॥੧॥
(ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਾਥ ਮੁੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ । (ਸਗੋਂ) ਵਧੀਕ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਬੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
But they cannot escape from the company of the five passions; they are increasingly bound to egotism. ||1||

ਪਿਆਰੇ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਮੈ ਕੀਏ ਕਰਮ ਅਨੇਕਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ (ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ
O Beloved, this is not the way to meet the Lord; I have performed these rituals so many times.

ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਦੀਜੈ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਹਾਂ (ਤੇ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਲਾਈ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਦੀ) ਪਰਖ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇਹ
I have collapsed, exhausted, at the Door of my Lord Master; I pray that He may grant me a discerning intellect. ||Pause||

ਮੋਨਿ ਭਇਓ ਕਰਪਾਤੀ ਰਹਿਓ ਨਗਨ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਬਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚੁੱਪ ਸਾਧੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਕਰ-ਪਾਤੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ), ਕੋਈ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਨੰਗਾ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ
One may remain silent and use his hands as begging bowls, and wander naked in the forest.

ਤਟ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਭ ਧਰਤੀ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਛੁਟਕੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
। ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਟਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਣ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ) ਮਨ ਦੀ ਡਾਂਵਾਂ-ਡੋਲ ਹਾਲਤ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ
He may make pilgrimages to river banks and sacred shrines all over the world, but his sense of duality will not leave him. ||2||

ਮਨ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾਇ ਬਸਿਓ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰਵਤ ਧਰਾਏ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਵਾਲਾ) ਆਰਾ ਰਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
His mind's desires may lead him to go and dwell at sacred places of pilgrimage, and offer his head to be sawn off;

ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੇ ਲਖ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਾਏ ॥੩॥
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ) ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ ।੩।
but this will not cause the filth of his mind to depart, even though he may make thousands of efforts. ||3||

ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਿਨੀ ਹੈਵਰ ਗੈਵਰ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੋਨਾ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਵਧੀਆ ਘੋੜੇ, ਵਧੀਆ ਹਾਥੀ (ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ) ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
He may give gifts of all sorts - gold, women, horses and elephants.

ਅੰਨ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਹੁ ਅਰਪੇ ਨਹ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੪॥
ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੱਪੜੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜ਼ਿਮੀਂ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੀਦਾ ।੪।
He may make offerings of corn, clothes and land in abundance, but this will not lead him to the Lord's Door. ||4||

ਪੂਜਾ ਅਰਚਾ ਬੰਦਨ ਡੰਡਉਤ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਰਤੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇਵ-ਪੂਜਾ ਵਿਚ, ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਡੰਡਉਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ, ਛੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
He may remain devoted to worship and adoration, bowing his forehead to the floor, practicing the six religious rituals.

ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਆ ਨਹ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥੫॥
ਪਰ ਉਹ ਭੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮਿੱਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ।੫।
He indulges in egotism and pride, and falls into entanglements, but he does not meet the Lord by these devices. ||5||

ਜੋਗ ਸਿਧ ਆਸਣ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਏ ਭੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
ਜੋਗ-ਮਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਆਸਣ ਹਨ । ਇਹ ਆਸਣ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
He practices the eighty-four postures of Yoga, and acquires the supernatural powers of the Siddhas, but he gets tired of practicing these.

ਵਡੀ ਆਰਜਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਗਹਿਆ ॥੬॥
ਉਮਰ ਤਾਂ ਲੰਮੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੬।
He lives a long life, but is reincarnated again and again; he has not met with the Lord. ||6||

ਰਾਜ ਲੀਲਾ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਅਫਾਰਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਈ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਰਾਜ-ਹਕੂਮਤ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਠਾਠ-ਬਾਠ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ
He may enjoy princely pleasures, and regal pomp and ceremony, and issue unchallenged commands.

ਸੇਜ ਸੋਹਨੀ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਚੋਆ ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰ ਕਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੭॥
। ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਜ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ) ਚੰਦਨ ਤੇ ਅਤਰ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ । ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੭।
He may lie on beautiful beds, perfumed with sandalwood oil, but this will led him only to the gates of the most horrible hell. ||7||

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ—ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ
Singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is the highest of all actions.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਬ ਲਿਖੇ ਕਾ ਲਹਨਾ ॥੮॥
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਇਹ ਅਵਸਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Says Nanak, he alone obtains it, who is pre-destined to receive it. ||8||

ਤੇਰੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਇਹ ਰੰਗਿ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਇਹ ਅਵਸਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Your slave is intoxicated with this Love of Yours.

ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Destroyer of the pains of the poor has become merciful to me, and this mind is imbued with the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||Second Pause||1||3||

ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਈ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
He is imperishable, the Giver of all beings; meditating on Him, all filth is removed.

ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਬਰਤਨਿ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ । ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He is the treasure of excellence, the object of His devotees, but rare are those who find Him. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
O my mind, meditate on the Guru, and God, the Cherisher of the world.

ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆਂ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Seeking His Sanctuary, one finds peace, and he shall not suffer in pain again. ||1||Pause||

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਭੇਟਤ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਭਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਖੋਟੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
By great good fortune, one obtains the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Meeting them, evil-mindedness is eliminated.

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਬਾਛੈ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੩॥
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ।੨।੫।੩੩।
Slave Nanak yearns for the dust of the feet of those, who have woven the Lord's Name into their hearts. ||2||5||33||

ਅੰਧੀ ਕੋਠੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਹੀ।।

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਭੂ ! ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਕੋਠੀ ਇਕ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

Without the name of the Lord, the chamber of soul remains dark.
