Mr K. Gadiya once had a divine intuition and to follow his dream, he decided to build a temple of Lord Venkatesha. He chose Mahesmal for the holy work. He and his family completed the dream with devotion and zeal. The temple was built in a period of 2 yrs. The idol of Lord Venkatesha is an exact replica of Balaji at the Temple in Tirupati. It is said that that sacred natural ambience of Maheshmal was bestowed by the Lord himself. It is also believed that in ancient times Lord Shankara meditated here. Even the renowned Shri. Gorakshanatha of Navanath tradition chose this place for his meditation. Later on a temple of Shri. Gorakshanatha was build here. Maheshmal is considered as Tirupati of Marathwada and has many traditions of Tirupati followed in the same way. The daily rituals and pujas are performed exactly as per the Tirupati temple. Today the temple is very famous and has lot of devotees visiting periodically for the Utsavas and gaining blessings of Lord Venkatesha.
