കൃഷിയും പ്രകൃതിയും ദൈവാനുഗ്രഹവും ഒരുമിക്കുന്ന പുണ്യാചാരമാണ് നിറപുത്തരി. വയലിൽ വിളഞ്ഞ ആദ്യ നെൽക്കതിരുകൾ ഭഗവാന്റെ തിരുനടയിൽ സമർപ്പിച്ച് നന്ദി അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഭാരതീയ കാർഷിക പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധ ആഘോഷമാണിത്.
