Devi Pindi An Untouched Shrine of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi
Devi Pindi is a religious place in the state of jammu and Kashmir. It is said that Mata Vaishno Devi meditates here for 9 months every year. One can visit the place and worship the 'pindi roop' of Mata Vaishno Devi. Many people either don’t know or confuse that devi pindi is same as Shree Mata Vaishno Devi shrine but it is not true. It is a
round about 10 kms away from katra. The place is an untouched abode of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi and because there is not much public awareness, this holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi offers peace, natural beauty and must be described as a heaven. The way to devi pindi is a 5 kms trek that starts from “Panthal” bus junction. The path offers trekking challenge and cannot be considered an easy task because the government is trying to construct a way for the shrine. There are only a few kutcha- dwellings built of mud & stone. The trek starts alongside a drain which flows with full thrust. It’s the only way to access the holy shrine. One has to walk or rather ‘balance’ on one of the drain sidewall, on one side of which is the ‘deep’ valley and on the other side, a mountain-wall. You can enjoy nature’s best on each and every turn there are things which you would have never seen before. Before the trek of 5 Kms is over you are convinced as to how beautiful nature can be. Huge peaks and hillocks overpower your existence as you progress in the journey. The holy shrine could be termed as a ‘clone’ to the original Vaishno devi shrine. There are three pindian or three naturally existing bulges in the mountain, represents the goddess. We were told that it is believed that the goddess resides in main shrine for three months and for rest of the year, in this place. It’s a must visit place for every Hindu. Jai Mata Di.
