The iconic depiction of the Madonna is also unique since it is one of two only icons where Mary is portrayed wearing an Indian Sari costume, while the other statue is said to have been buried with Emperor Aurangzeb. The basilica is known for its pilgrims from all over India and its assembly of multilingual prayers every Christmas.

My dear friends, please pray for Kerala....it’s been a long time since we saw such flooding and heavy rains which required to open 23 dams in Kerala meteorological history due to high density of water which had to open Idukki dam after 26 years without any choice....my heart goes out to everyone from Idukki to Kasargode not forgetting Kuttanad😢😢😢 feeling sad to see people struggling in the water....
