Sri Dharmasamavardhini Samedha Sri Thiruloganatha Swamy temple is dedicated to Hindu deity Shiva, located at Thakkalur, Thirunallar (Karaikal). This temple is located at a distance of 1km away from Thirunallar Sri Dharbarinyeshwarar temple in the east and 3km away from the Karaikal Ammayar temple in the west. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Vaipu Sthalam, where the two of the most revered Nayana
rs (Saivite Saints), Appar and Sundarar have glorified the place with their verses during the 7th-8th century. Post reign of Chozha kings, renovation and coronation of this temple was performed by Nattukottai Nagarathars. Later in the year 1877, on August 19th, renovation and coronation of this temple was performed by M.Rm.A.Ramanathan Chettiar. He also performed the coronation of “Immaiyil Nanmai Tharuvaar” Temple at Madurai on 23rd August 1895, “Sri Kamakshiyammal Samedha Sri Egambaranathar” Temple at Kancheepuram on 2nd February 1900 & “Atchayalinga Swamy” Temple at Kizhvelur in Nagai District. Currently this family members have started the renovation activities and the work is progressing at a fast pace towards the Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Sri Dharmasamavardhini Samedha Sri Thiruloganatha Swamy temple.
