Welcome to Anjuman-E-Islamia
The Society,Anjuman-E-Islamia, which was founded on the 29th August 1934, was registered with the Registrar of Companies, Puducherry under the Societeies Registration Act, 1860 on the 19th day of November 2007 and the Registration Number is 1065 of 2007. The Commissioner of Income Tax-II,Trichirapalli , after due consideration of the objects of the society and the genuineness of the activities granted registration to the society under Section 12 AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961 with effect from the 1st day of April 2008 by his order dated 26th February 2009. Our society generous donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during floods, Plague epidemic in Surath (1994) , Cyclone in Orissa(1991), Kargil War (1999), and Earthquake in Gujarat (2001). Our society rendered great and dedicated service to the people of Karaikal affected in tsunami for two weeks and immediately start aiding from the 26th December 2004 by providing them with food , ambulance service , clearing 78 dead bodies and admitting casualties to the hospital. The ambulance provided by Aujuman-E-Islamia has served the needs of the people in Karaikal, Nagapattinam and Thirvaurur Districts on reasonable charges. In times of emergency and distress , the organisation is rendering the ambulance service to the public free of charge. The organisation was the first to introduced Body Freezer Service to Karaikal and levied a reasonable charge , unlike private company render this service at an exorbitant rent for such freezer. We remember with great gratitude the memorable services of the following office bearers of our organisation, their invaluable and timely financial assistance of the noble activities of Karaikal. Haji Mr.S.Abdul Gafoor and his brother Mr.S.Abdul Kareem,the great philanthropist of Karaikal contributed immense financial help in purchasing the site and the construction of the building thereon at No.82, Market Street , Karaikal , where at our organisation is now housed. Haji Mr.S.M.Mohamed Ibrahim Maricar, noted philanthropist and reputed textile merchant of Karaikal , encourage the efficient and educated member of the society to continue their services for the society and inducted young well-educated and enthusiastic Muslims into organisation as a office bearers. Such induction has improved the effective functioning of the society with farsighted leadership. Hajee (Mr.M.Thambisa Maricar) of HMTS Family from Karaikal has donated ambulance ,enabling ambulance services to the public , the first of its kind in Karaikal. Mr.M.Mohamed Abdul Kader Maricar also known as Mr.M.M.Marican, is the founder of ‘M.M.Marican Charitable Trust’.They have been donating Rs. 500/- per month through his trust.In those days donations of this kind , was a huge income to the organisation. S.Shahul Hameed, a leading Taxation Consultant and businessman, as our dynamic secretary has lifted the organisation to a great and enviable heights of reputation with its qualitative and quantitative services to the people of Karaikal and its potentiality of earning considerable income. The secretary is supported and assisted by our Treasurer, Mr.S.A.Mohamed Abdul Kader Maricar, B.Com, his able and diligent handling the financial affairs of our organisation.The income of the the organisation is maximised because of his utmost care and caution in spending its money. The current President of our organisation , Hajee Mr.S.A.Sulthan Abdul Kader , is now the Director of Prosecution , Law Department , Puducherry. Our Vice-President of our Organisation , Mr.S.M Habeeb Mohamed is one of the leading advocates of Bar Association, Karakul and he has volunteered his service to the public by giving lectures mercantile Law for the students of Chartered Accountant, Cost and Works Accountant and company Secretary courses. The Assistant Secretary of Organisation, Mr.S.Syed Ahamed Maricar , is now the Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, Karaikal. Dr.S.Haja Farook , one of our Executive Committee members, is the Senior Medical Officer of the Government General Hospital, Karaikal. Mr.M.I.Liaquath Ali, M.Sc., M.Phil , M.Ed.,another Executive Committee member of our organisation , is a distinguished Professor and the Head of the Department of Chemistry, Aringar Anna Arts College, Karaikal. Another member of the Executive committee of the Society, Hajee Mr.U.Basheerudeen , hails from a respectable and has a reputed family business ; reputable and well known to the people of Karaikal. The other members of our Executive Committee are respected, honest and notable natives of Karaikal. Income For the Organisation
The organisation is rendering all the services to the public of Karaikal making use of its income derived
i) as rentals from all kind of utensils, ginders, and other accessories for large and small scale cooking for feasts;
ii) as norminal feasts charge for services of Baithu Sabha;
iii) as donation from the philantrophists and public in general;
iv) ambulance and freezer services

The former Health Minister of Pondicherry , Mr.M.M.Ismail Maricar had served as the president of our Society. Hajee Mr.M.O.H. Farook Maicar, the former Chief Minister of Pondicherry , Former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the Present Governor of Jharkhand had served as the reporter of our society. Mr.M.G.Jaffar Maricar , the former Chairman of the State Wakf Board of Pondicherry , had served as the Treasurer of our Society. Mr.S.Abdul.Gafoor , the former member of the state Wakf board of Pondicherry, had served the president of our society. Mr.V.M.Salih Maricar , the former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Pondicherry, Served as the Executive committee member of our Society
