Even the demons believe—and tremble! -James 2:19

Demons 1)they pray (mark 5:10)
2)have knowledge about God and Jesus (Matthew 8:29)
3)Believe (James 2:19)
4) confess (Luke 4:34)

Demons do not
1)show signs of repentance -turning away from sin
2)seek to do the will of God-Obedience to His word !!

Are we different from demons by doing the two things which demons do not ??????

From the deep
Greetings sisters! Today we will be seeing about the Samaritan woman in John 4. As we all know she comes to draw water from a deep well (john 4:11),meets Christ and believes Him .Before we go further let’s now read Luke 5 where Simon is asked to put his net onto the deep(Luke 5:4,5).In Luke 5:10 we see how Jesus tells him he will be catching men like how he caught the fishes from the deep!

The word deep is usually given a negative effect in the Bible -darkness,struggle,sleep,sin,drowning and so on .Few examples are Genesis 1:2(darkness),Psalms 69:2,15;Isaiah 63:13.
We all know that Christ came for sinners(Luke 5:32,Matthew 9:13).We ought to have the Mind of Christ and imitate Him (philippians 2:5).So we ought to catch others from the deep and add them to our church !sisters when we find others caught up in the deep we shouldn’t judge them (Matthew 7:1-5,Luke 6:37)but bring them out of the deep.Before we go to John 4 we ought to realise that we all are sinners (Romans 3:23) and we ought to deal with our sins and the word of God like the Samaritan woman !And when we see others caught up in the deep like this woman we ought to help them out.
1. The Samaritan woman was ashamed of her sins:-
usually women draw water during early mornings and evenings.But this woman comes around noon when no one was around .Likewise we ought to be ashamed of our sins and be broken hearted before God !(psalms 34:18;51:17;Luke 18:13-15)

2. Her heart was receptive and wanted to know the truth -John 4:11(1 John 4:1- we ought to test everyone and be receptive to truth )

3. When we are in sin we tend to continue it daily and yet not be satisfied (John 4:13).When we believe Christ we have eternal satisfaction !john 7:38

4. She has the urge to come out of the deep well and not go there again !-john 4:15.

5. She accepts her sins -John 4:16-Luke wise sisters we ought to accept our mistakes and repent !(proverbs 28:13)

6. She focus on her spiritual relationship with God when she realises that Jesus is a man of God-4:19,20.Likewise sisters we ought to worship God and set our relationship with Him right .We ought to worship Him according to His standards-we ought to worship him in Truth and we all know His word is truth (john17:17).(Leviticus 10:1-3,Genesis 4:3-7)

7. After she learnt the truth she left her waterpot-she departed from sin !-4:26,28

8. She became fruitful -she brought more souls to Christ -4:29,39-Luke8:15

9. She was not ashamed to face people anymore !-4:28-when we believe in Christ and let go of our sins and start a new life after baptism there’s nothing for us to be ashamed of !!!(1 Corinthians 15:9,10,Romans 9:33)

10. She wanted others to come and see and believe-she asked them could this be Christ instead of telling them He is Christ.-4:29,41,42.She knew it was Christ but she wanted others to work out their own salvation-philippians 2:12.

Therefore sisters we all know God desires all men to be saved and know the truth (1 Timothy 2:4) .So let’s deal with sins like the woman in John 4 and help all those who are eager to come out of the deep !!!

The REAL KINSMAN
Greetings sisters! Ruth is such a beautiful book in the Bible.

In chapter 1 we know about Elimelch and his family going to Moab as there was a famine in Bethlehem (the house of bread).We know about the death of Elimelech and his two sons.Naomi asks his daughter in laws to leave in chapter 1 to their mothers house.She wished them both to find REST in each of their husbands houses(1:8,9).
This word rest is the same word which is used in Matthew 11:28.Does that mean wives have rest at their husbands houses??? Ofcourse not!Its the security and safety one feels from this world with her husband .How blessed we are to know and hope for the eternal rest God has for us through Christ! As we all know Ruth was determined to be with Naomi -she chose Noamis people as her people and Naomis God as her God!(1:16,17).
In chapter 2 we see Ruth going out to the field to glean after the reapers .She was seen by Boaz a close relative of elimelech and was told how Ruth was working throughout with only little REST.
She found favour in Boazs eyes(2:14-16) as he recognised the good nature of Ruth of how she has been with her mother in law (2:18)and chose to be with her people whom she did not know.No gleaner can sit with reapers and eat but Ruth was given this opportunity by Boaz in chapter 2.
In chapter 3 we see Naomi wanting RUTH to have the rest she had told in chapter 1 through Boaz as he was a close relative.Dear friends this close relative is an important relationship .There were certain responsibilities under the law of Moses for every near kinsman i.e close relative (Goel (Hebrew))-redeeming the forfeited inheritance for their brother(Leviticus 24:23,24),avenging and taking revenge of blood and life of his brother (Deuteronomy 19:6;numbers 35:19-27)and redeeming his brother from slavery by paying off his debt(Leviticus 25:39-46).So Ruth does all her mother in law asked her to do and Boaz gets married to her in chapter 4.
Dear sisters Boaz is a shadow of the real kinsman Jesus Christ ! The redeemer of mankind -our true near kinsman is our Saviour Jesus Christ ,our Mediator who redeemed us by His blood from slavery of sin!!!
We were sold into sin (Romans 7:14,Isaiah 59:1,2)and had to be redeemed ! We can only be redeemed through Christ as He is the only way (1 Peter 1:15-17,John 14:6)and His blood has cleansed us when we obeyed the gospel and were baptised(Romans 6:3,4) .
Let us always be grateful for this Grace and mercy from our God Almighty who gave His only Son for us to be saved !

An eternal REST -a place of eternal security is granted for us through Christ (Matthew 11:28) .
We need to fall at His feet (Ruth 3:3-6)and humble ourself before Him and obey His word through our faith!

Let us continue to stand in our faith steadfast !

Redemption:
1)Something once possessed is lost

But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
And your sins have hidden His face from you,
So that He will not hear-Isaiah 59:2

2) a price is paid to purchase it back

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
1 Peter 1:18,19

3) a power is broken -Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign (B)till He has put all enemies under His feet.The last enemy that will be destroyed is death-1 Corinthians 15:24-26

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, whois the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.-Ephesians 1:13,14

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace-Ephesians 1:7

He who purchased us is holy so we ought to be holy ,blameless and faithful until the end obeying His commands !!!
