For people to receive puṇya, and to receive both aruḷ (grace) and poruḷ (material well‑being), as the saying declares, Porul illārku ivvulagam illai; Arul illārku avvulagam illai. (This world is not for those without wealth, and the world beyond is not for those who have not gained grace.) To receive both aruḷ and poruḷ, as stated in the śloka, dhanam tharum kalvi tharum oru nālum thalarvariya manam tharum (Those who fall under Her pleasant grace would be blessed with Wealth, Education, a tireless mind), we must learn from Āñjaneya Svāmi the quality of possessing a manas that never gives up.
As the śloka declares, Nallaṉa ellām tarum (grants all goodness). We do not know what is good. We make grocery lists and lists for other needs, but we rarely have the opportunity to understand what is good, whether at home or outside. There are fewer people to teach, less time, and the environment has changed. Therefore, we cannot learn what is virtuous automatically; we must make deliberate effort.
Where do we receive all that is good? When we come into the sannidhāna of Bhagavān, we get good thoughts which guide us, and we gain strength in the body, clarity in the intellect, and noble thoughts in the manas. Thus, for a person to become a complete human being, a useful human being, as the saying goes, Aridhu aridhu manidarai pirathal aridhu (Being born as a human is a rarity), we have attained this rare human birth. For us to gain the ātma‑śakti and the divine anugraha to perform good actions continuously in this birth, we should go to the temple frequently.
