On the seventh day of Navratri, the Kalratri form of Maa Durga is worshiped. Worshiping them protects the sudden crises on the person. This form of mother is the destroyer of enemies and evil. On the seventh day of Navratri, those who worship Maa Kalratri do not have fear of ghosts, ghosts or evil power.
Maa Kalaratri is considered to be the most ferocious avatar of NavDurga and is known for destroying ignorance and removing darkness from the universe.
Origin
As per the Hindu scriptures, it is believed that the repulsive, fierce and violent appearance of Goddess Durga emerged when the deity peeled off her divine golden skin in order to attack the demons. She is regarded as the vanquisher of all the fears, negative forces, ghosts, and evil. However, Goddess Kalaratri is very benevolent in protecting the devotees and always blesses them by fulfilling all their wishes and desires. Thus, the goddess is also known as Shubhankari.
As per the Hindu scriptures, it is believed that worshipping Goddess Kalaratri on the seventh day gives an abundant fruitful result. With her grace, devotees get power, position and earn an eminent status. Goddess Kalaratri is the owner and granter for siddhis. She is worshipped for siddhis, knowledge, power and wealth.
This day of Navratri has a great significance for Ta**ra Sadhna. The day is eagerly awaited by Sadhus and Tantriks. All the evil powers such as demons etc. can be warded off if the name of Maa is chanted. Her blessing removes all sorts of fears forever. It is believed that sweets made from Jaggery are distributed on this day to get rid of poverty.
Appearance and Form Kalratri Devi, also known as Maa Kaali, is the most ferocious form of Goddess Durga. This Krishna (black) colored Goddess has long tousled hair and three round protruding eyes. She exhales flames through her nostrils while breathing and has four arms that depict her immense strength. Also, she holds a cleaver and a deadly sabre in each of her hands, while her other hands are in Abhay and Varada mudras to grant blessings and protection to her sadhakas.
