3-Day Kangyur Reading, Mahakala Puja, and Sang Puja

At KCE, we combine modern education with traditional Buddhist practices that are usually taught in monasteries. From a young age, our students begin learning Tibetan and take part in the daily Mahakala Puja.

Reading the Kangyur—the words of the Buddha—is considered a deeply meaningful and meritorious practice. Our Dharma Library holds the complete Kangyur and Tengyur in traditional pecha format. Each year, selected texts are shared with students as well as members of the monastic and lay sangha for group reading.

During this special three-day program, students and monastics came together to perform an extended Mahakala Puja, strengthening their connection to the practice.

The program concluded with a Sang Puja, a fire offering ritual performed to purify the environment and clear obstacles for the community.
The program was led by senior lamas and monks.

In Memory of Captain Yapo Yongda

We are saddened by the passing of Captain Yapo Yongda, founder of DPCA and a devoted disciple of the Karmapa.
The KCE extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May our Monlam prayers assist him on his journey to liberation.

With profound sorrow, we the Trustees and members of South Asia Buddhist Association extend our heartfelt condolences on the Maha - Parinirvana of His Eminence the 3d Jamgon Mipham Namgyal Gyatso Rinpoche, beloved father of His Holiness the 17h Gyalwa Karmapa and His Eminence Lab Tri Chen Sonam Tsemo.
May his noble life, wisdom, and virtue be remembered with deep reverence. In this time of loss, we pray that His Holiness the Karmapa and the bereaved family, find strength, solace, and peace.
We pray that Rinpoches vast and empathetic Dharma activity may continue to flourish for the benefit of all sentient beings.

First day in Bodhgaya

Today we visited Dongeshri Mahakala Cave, performed a short Mahakala puja, and Mahamudra Monlam. A great start of the Kagyu Monlam Chenmo 2025.
