Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was and will always remain one of the brightest shining stars of India's independence movement.

At a time when the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru advocated for peaceful means of protests, Bose popularly known as Netaji took matters into his own hand and went ahead with an aggressive push for a free India, even setting up a government in exile.

On this day in the year 1943, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the National Flag for the first time at the Gymkhana Ground (present Netaji Stadium) in Port Blair. He also announced the Islands, the first Indian Territory freed from British rule.

The island at the time was liberated from British rule by Japan which captured it during the World War -II.

On 29th December 1943, Netaji accompanied by Sarvashri Anand Mohan Sahay, Captain Rawat - ADC, and Col. DS Raju, the personal physician of Netaji, landed at the Port Blair aerodrome in the Andamans. He was received by the Japanese admiral at Port Blair. He was warmly welcomed by the enthusiastic Indians and Burmese as well. 

Bose named Andaman Island Shaheed and Nicobar Island as Swaraj and appointed INA General AD Loganathan as the governor of the Islands. Azad Hind's Government was not merely a Government in Exile anymore but had its own land, own currency, civil code, and stamps.

By hoisting the Azad Hind flag, Bose, the head of the Provisional Government of Azad Hind also fulfilled his promise that INA would stand on Indian soil by the end of 1943.

વડા પ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ જાહેરાત કરી હતી કે સાહિબજાદાઓ (ગુરુ ગોવિંદ સિંહના પુત્રો) ની હિંમત અને ન્યાય માટેની તેમની લડતને શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ તરીકે આ વર્ષથી, 26 ડિસેમ્બરને "વીર બાલ દિવસ" તરીકે ચિહ્નિત કરવામાં આવશે.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that starting this year, December 26 will be marked as "Veer Baal Diwas" as a tribute to the courage of Sahibzades (Guru Gobind Singh's sons) and their quest for justice.

"The bravery and ideals of Mata Gujri, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the four Sahibzades give strength to millions of people. They never Bowed to injustice. They envisioned a world that is inclusive and harmonious. It is the need of the hour for more people to know about them", read another tweet.

કૃષિપ્રધાન દેશ ભારતમાં દર વર્ષે 23 ડિસેમ્બરે રાષ્ટ્રીય ખેડૂત દિવસ ઉજવવામાં આવે છે. આ દિવસ ખેડૂત નેતા અને દેશના પાંચમા વડાપ્રધાન ચૌધરી ચરણ સિંહની જન્મજયંતિના અવસર પર ઉજવવામાં આવે છે. તેમના કાર્યકાળ દરમિયાન, ચૌધરી ચરણ સિંહે કૃષિ ક્ષેત્રના ઉત્થાનમાં મહત્વની ભૂમિકા ભજવી હતી અને ખેડૂતોના લાભ માટે ઘણી ખેડૂત-મૈત્રીપૂર્ણ નીતિઓ તૈયાર કરી હતી. તેઓ ભલે બહુ ઓછા સમય માટે વડાપ્રધાન રહ્યા, પરંતુ તેમણે ભારતીય ખેડૂતોના કલ્યાણ માટે સખત મહેનત કરી. તેમણે ખેડૂતો માટે ઘણી યોજનાઓ પણ શરૂ કરી. આ જ કારણ છે કે ભારત સરકારે વર્ષ 2001થી 23 ડિસેમ્બરે ચૌધરી ચરણ સિંહના જન્મદિવસને કિસાન દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.
