Remembering Shaheed Abdul Gani Lone Sahab on his 24th death anniversary a leader remembered for his foresight, courage & ability to stand by his convictions even in difficult times. He shared a long political & personal bond with my late father Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari Sb, particularly during the formative years of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference. I too had the privilege of knowing him personally & always found him thoughtful, warm & far ahead of his time in understanding the realities of our society and politics.

He believed leadership must serve people with dignity, wisdom and courage. Time often proves the value of voices that choose understanding over applause. May Allah SWT grant him the highest place in Jannah and reward his service to the people. Al-Fatiha.

Crescent Moon of Zul Hijjah 1447 AH Not Sighted; 1st Zul Hijjah to Fall on 19 May 2026

Srinagar, 17th May 26: The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of All J&K Shia Association (AJKSA), along with religious scholars, carried out moon sighting observations for the sacred month of Zul Hijjah 1447 AH at the Meteorological Department office, Rambagh Srinagar.

After careful observation and Shari’ah verification, it was confirmed that the crescent moon of Zul Hijjah was not sighted either by the AJKSA Ruet-e-Hilal Committee or by other moon sighting committees across India. No reliable or authenticated Sharai witness regarding the sighting of the moon was received from any part of the country.

Accordingly, in light of Islamic principles relating to Ruet-e-Hilal and based upon the absence of verified testimony, the 1st of Zul Hijjah 1447 AH will fall on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

The AJKSA delegation present during the moon sighting observation was led by AJKSA Spokesperson Molvi Sheikh Zakri, AJKSA Spokesperson Molvi Syed Mohammed, Imam-e-Jummah Gupkar Syed Gazanfer Rizvi, Molvi Firoz Ali of Jamia Imam Sadiq (AS), and AJKSA Media Incharge Rahi Shamshad.

AJKSA prayed that Almighty Allah bless the Muslim Ummah with peace, unity, acceptance of Ibadaat and prosperity.

AJKSA & J&K SDRF Organise Volunteer Training and Disaster Management Programme at Sumbal

Initiative launched by AJKSA President Molvi Imran Ansari aims to train youth across Jammu & Kashmir for emergency response and public assistance during disasters

Sumbal, 10th May 26: The All J&K Shia Association (AJKSA), in collaboration with J&K SDRF, today organised a Volunteer Training & Disaster Management Programme at Jamia Imam Jaffar Sadiq (AS), Sumbal, with participation of youth volunteers from different areas.

The programme was held under an initiative of AJKSA President Molvi Imran Ansari to prepare and train youth in every district of Jammu & Kashmir so they can provide immediate assistance during emergencies and also support authorities and rescue agencies whenever required.

During the training sessions, SDRF officials provided practical demonstrations and awareness regarding disaster response, emergency rescue techniques, first aid, evacuation procedures, flood response, and coordination during natural and man-made disasters. Volunteers were also educated about the importance of community preparedness and quick response during critical situations.

Speaking about the initiative, the organisers stated that trained local volunteers can play an important role during accidents, floods, fires, and other emergencies by reaching affected people quickly and assisting administration and rescue teams on the ground.

The programme received positive response from participants, who appreciated the effort to involve youth in humanitarian and public service activities.

It was further announced that similar training programmes will soon be organised in the districts of Srinagar, Budgam, and Baramulla. Special disaster management and volunteer training sessions for female participants will also be conducted in the coming phase of the initiative.

The organisers thanked J&K SDRF officials, volunteers, and all participants for their cooperation and contribution towards the successful conduct of the programme.
