དེ་རིང་སྤྱི་ཟླ་ ༧ ཚེས་༣༠ ཉིན་གྱི་སྔ་དྲོར། འདུལ་བའི་ཕྱག་བཞེས་ལྟར་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་ཆེན་མོར་བདག་ཅག་སྟོན་མཆོག་བླ་ན་མེད་པ་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སྐུ་རྟེན་གཟི་བྱིན་མཆོག་ཏུ་འབར་བའི་སྤྱན་སྔར། འདི་ག་བཤད་གྲྭའི་མཁན་སློབ་དགེ་འདུན་གྲངས་ཉིས་བརྒྱ་དང་ཉི་ཤུ་ལྷག་ཙམ་འདུ་འཛོམས་ཀྱིས་དབྱར་གནས་པར་ཞལ་གྱིས་བཞེས་ཏེ། ཟླ་ངོ་གསུམ་གྱི་རིང་ལུང་སྡེ་སྣོད་གསུམ་གྱི་འཆད་ཉན་སོགས་དང་། གཏོར་བཞེངས་དང་། རྒྱ་རག་སོགས་མཐོང་བ་བརྒྱུད་པའི་ཕྱག་བཞེས་ཀྱི་རིམ་པའི་ཐད་ལའང་འབད་རྩོལ་རྒྱུན་ལས་རྒྱ་གང་ཆེ་ཞིང་དུས་འདའ་བར་འགྱུར་བ་ནི། སྟོན་དང་བསྟན་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་ཞབས་འདེགས་བླ་ན་མེད་པ་སྟེ། རང་གཞན་ཀུན་གྱིས་ཡི་རང་གི་བྱ་བཟང་མཆོག་ཏུ་གྱུར་པས། དགེ་བ་སྒྲུབ་པའི་ཐབས་བླ་ན་མེད་པའོ།།
ཁ་སང་སྦྱོར་ཆོག་དང་དེ་རིང་འདུས་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་དབྱར་གནས་ཞལ་བཞེས་སྐབས་ཀྱི་སྣང་བརྙན་རྣམས་གཟིགས་མོ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྤྱན་ཟུང་དགྱེས་པའི་ལྟད་མཆོག་ཏུ་འགྱུར་བར་སྨོན།།
This morning, on July 30th, in accordance with Vinaya practice, over two hundred twenty khenpos, teachers, and monks of our monastic college (Shedra) assembled in the main shrine room. Before the magnificently radiant statue of our supreme teacher, the fully enlightened Buddha, they formally pledged to observe the summer retreat (Yarné).
Over the next three months, they will dedicate their time to extensive efforts—not only in teaching and studying the Three Collections of Sacred Scriptures (Tripiṭaka), but also in maintaining the direct oral lineages of practical traditions, such as making ritual tormas and playing ritual instruments (gyaling and brass horns). Since serving both the Teacher and the Teachings in this way is the highest form of service and a supreme act of virtue worthy of praise by oneself and all others, it stands as an unmatched method for accomplishing goodness.
