Gurdwara talhan sahib jiii SIKH TEMPLE (Gurudwara) Baba Niahal Singh belonged to the neighbouring village of Dakoha. Baba Nihal Singh Ji made pulleys for drinking water wells.

He served the people by installing the pulleys at the base of the well. Local people believe that as Baba Ji was divine, no matter which water well Baba Ji installed a pulley, the water wells never dried up and the water remained sweet. On one occasion, Baba Ji met with a fatal accident, whilst installing a pulley. As a result, Baba Ji became a martyr whilst serving the people. The people of Talha

n constructed a shrine (Samadh) in Talhan. The shrine was looked after Baba Ji's associate, Harnam Singh. After Harnam Singh's death, the followers cremated him next to Baba Ji's Samadhi. The two shrines have now become a grand Gurudwara. An annual Mela is held to mark the death anniversary ("Barsi") of Baba Ji. This Mela is a grand event in Jalandhar.There are sports events like Kabbadi, volleyball and tug-of-war. Gatka displays are held. The Gurudwara runs a fully modernised charitable hospital and has recently acquired a Doppler Scan Machine for colour scans. The village also has shops, a bank, Jathera, a Secondary School, a Mosque, temples, a Post Office and other Gurdwara's located in various parts of the village.

Farid-ud-din Masud Ganjshakar (1173–1266) is commonly known as Baba Sheikh Farid or Baba Farid Ji. He was a 12th-century Sufi preacher and saint of the Chishti Order of South Asia. He was born at Kothiwal village, 10 km from Multan ( Pakistan ) to Jamal-ud-din Suleiman and Maryam Bibi (Qarsum Bibi). He is generally recognized as the first major poet of the Punjabi language and is considered one of the great saints of the Punjab. He is one of the fifteen Sikh bhagats and selections from his work are included in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. His poetry in Sri Guru Granth Sahib includes four Shabads (hymns) and 112 Shlokas. ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ (੧੬੮੦-੧੭੫੮) ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੂਫੀ ਕਾਵਿ ਦੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਕ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਸਿਤਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਨ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਵਿ ਰਚਨਾ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੱਟੜਤਾ ਤੇ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਇਕ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਵਿਅੰਗ ਹੈ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲਏ ਅਲੰਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਦੂਈ ਲੈਅ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਹਰਮਨ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਹੈ । ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਬਹਾਦੁਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੱਟੜਤਾ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਉਠਾਈ । ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀਆਂ,ਦੋਹੜੇ,ਬਾਰਾਂਮਾਹ, ਅਠਵਾਰਾ, ਗੰਢਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਹਰਫ਼ੀਆਂਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ ।
