Have you ever visited a place that transported you back in time? If you haven't experienced this feeling, the old city of Jaipur, India, awaits you. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jaipur captivates with its rich history and cultural heritage. As we wandered along the ancient walls of a castle, we found ourselves under the watchful eyes of local monkeys. One audacious monkey even challenged one of our companions to a duel, a challenge he wisely sidestepped by hastily retreating. At the base of these walls, peacocks strutted majestically, and we learned that tigers could be spotted in the area come evening. We indulged in exotic foods and spices, flavors unique to India that have not ventured beyond its borders. A highlight was having our group portrait taken by a local photographer, boasting a camera he claimed was the oldest still in operation, dating back to 1860. The photo captured a vintage essence, yet the timeless message we carried was even more ancient.

After our time in Delhi we boarded a packed flight to Jaipur. My assigned seat was actually the flight attendants seat which meant I was facing the rest of the cabin for the entire 50 minutes of the flight. That was an unexpected adventure in itself. At that point I began to understand that these type of unexpected occurrences are a average everyday occurrence in the colorful country of India.
🇮🇳 Did you know that Jaipur, known as the "Pink City," is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Its nickname stems from the pink-hued buildings in the old city, which were painted to welcome the Prince of Wales in 1876. Jaipur is renowned for its magnificent forts, including the iconic Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, as well as its vibrant bazaars filled with textiles, jewelry, and handicrafts. It's a city rich in history, culture, and architectural splendor, making it a popular destination for tourists from around the world.

Upon reaching Jaipur, we were confronted with unsettling news of recent persecutions in the Roorkee region, where we had just been. It became evident that hostility towards religions other than Hinduism was escalating significantly across India during our stay. Faced with this reality, we were advised to relocate the Go & Tell conference from its planned public venue to a more secure location within a local Assemblies of God Church. Despite these challenges, the auditorium was still more than half full, filled with individuals excited on being equipped and prepared to take the Gospel to their spheres of influence. Jaipur is considered 99.8% unreached with the good news of Jesus. It was time for them to begin hearing about our God. That evening, in collaboration with Love Jaipur, we rented a large auditorium, utilizing music and the arts to share the Gospel with those yet to hear it.

Excited to kick off our journey in Roorkee, India! 🇮🇳 Did you know that Roorkee is not only a city but also a municipal corporation in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand? Situated just 31 km from Haridwar city, it boasts a picturesque landscape nestled under the Sivalik Hills of the Himalayas. One of its most notable landmarks is the Ganges Canal, flowing gracefully through the heart of the city from North to South. Stay tuned as we share more about our GO&TELL conference, where we equipped 225 believers with tools for evangelism, in this city that is 99.8% unreached! 🌆
