“Be aware of whatever negative tendency may be contained in your thoughts as they arise, and apply the appropriate antidote. For instance, if you are thinking of someone and the idea of this being an "enemy" arises, do not let any hatred develop. Instead, generate great love for that person as though he or she were your dearest friend. If attachment arises, view the person as an illusion, and remember that whatever comes together is bound to separate. When you let attachment subside, there will be no habitual tendencies or karmic seeds to accumulate for future lives. By trying to classify the infinitude of living beings into friends and enemies, you will only overload your mind. Instead, simplify everything and see everyone as your kind parents. Only an omniscient buddha could know how long ago it was that you fell into the delusion of samsara, in which you have spent an incalculable number of lives. All beings must have been your parents in one life or another. Realizing this, feel a deep, impartial love for them all.”

Right Time ~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

There is a right time for everything. Farmers know when the time has come to plow, to sow, or to harvest, and they never fail to do each job when it is necessary. Now that you are in full possession of your faculties, have met a teacher, and have received his instructions, will you let the filed of liberation lie uncultivated?

NINE BAD OMENS ( Ngenpa Gudzom ).

28-12-22 / 29-12-22
Wednesday noon till Thursday noon.

"The days of the nine bad omens are considered the most inauspicious days of the year. It starts on the 6th day of the 11th Tibetan month at 12:00 noon, and ends at 12:00 noon on the 7th day.

At the time of the Buddha, one practitioner tried to perform a lot of positive actions on this day, and nine bad things happened to him. Consequently, Buddha proclaimed that on this date each year in the future, it is best not to try to accomplish much. Definitely it is a bad time to start projects or start a retreat. Traditionally, Tibetans play games and have picnics on this day.

Everybody remembers Nine Bad Omens, but everybody forgets it is immediately followed by Zangpo Chu Dzom, or "Ten Auspicious Omens," which starts on noon Thursday and lasts until noon Friday.

ལྷ་བབས་དུས་ཆེན། - The Festival of the Descent from Heaven.

It occurs on the 22nd day of the ninth Tibetan month. Buddha’s mother Mayadevi was reborn in Tusita. To repay her kindness and to liberate her, and also to benefit the gods, Buddha spent three months teaching in the realm of the gods. When he was about to return to this world, Indra and Brahma manifested three stairs of 80,000 yojanas each reaching this world in Sankisa. As the Buddha walked down the central one, they accompanied him to his left and right carrying umbrellas to honour him. He descended to earth in Sankisa, which is located in modern Uttar Pradesh, and which is counted among the eight holy places.

When all thoughts are imbued with devotion to the guru, there is a natural confidence that this will take care of whatever may happen. All forms are the guru, all sounds are prayer, and all gross and subtle thoughts arise as devotion.

Dharmapala Day (24/10/2022).

A dharmapāla is a type of wrathful god in Buddhism. The name means "Dharma protector or defender" in Sanskrit, and the dharmapālas are also known as the Defenders of the Law (Dharma), or the Protectors of the Law.

In Vajrayana iconography and thangka depictions, dharmapālas are fearsome beings, often with many heads, many hands, or many feet. Dharmapālas often have blue, black or red skin, and a fierce expression with protruding fangs. Though dharmapālas have a terrifying appearance and countenance, they are all bodhisattvas or buddhas, meaning that they are embodiments of compassion that act in a wrathful way for the benefit of sentient beings.
