📖 *WORD FOR AUG 24*
*I will praise the LORD, who counsels me. Psalm 16:7*
_God is delighted when His children go to Him for counsel. One of the names of Jesus is_ *“Wonderful Counselor.”* _If you need to make an important decision in life, pause! Ask Jesus to guide you. His wisdom is great and counsel will be wonderful. In the midst of a battle, He counsels us and shows us a strategy._ *The victory is ours. Allow God to guide and then boldly follow where He leads. No matter how insignificant the decision may appear, always seek His counsel.* Amen

📖 *WORD FOR AUG 22*
_*“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. “ (Psalm 56:3)*_
_The Bible is so honest, it doesn’t say_ , *“If I am afraid,” but rather “when I am afraid,”* _because all of us have to deal with anxiety and fear: fear of the future, and a host of other things._
_These difficult situations are actually what develops faith and gives us an opportunity not only to trust God for that particular challenge, but also helps us grow in our faith._
_Maybe you're in a tough situation. You don't see a way out and you don’t know what to do. If so, you can say with the Psalmist,_ _*“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You."*_ Amen

📖 *WORD FOR AUG 20*

_I am amazed today as I think of the Lord and His ability to hear us when we call out to Him. With the myriad of prayers coming before His throne of grace, He carefully listens to every cry of our heart, every sigh, and makes note of every tear drop and not to mention the tossing and turning and the sleepless nights. If we are unsure of exactly what we want to say, He doesn’t get confused by our words_
_*Romans 8:26 says, "For when we don't know how to pray, the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words."*_ Amen

📖 *WORD FOR AUG 19*
_*Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet, it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25)*_
_If you’re not sure how solid your foundation is, stop. Commit to living your life according to His Word, no storm that comes will threaten your life when you are built on the Rock._ Amen

He didn't provide enough to finish the party. He provided enough to stock a restaurant.

The wedding at Cana in John 2 is the first miracle in John's Gospel — the sign that begins everything. The details are familiar. The wine ran out. Mary told Jesus. He told the servants to fill six stone water jars with water. They filled them to the brim. He told them to draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet. The master tasted it and called the bridegroom over to tell him he had saved the best wine for last.

The detail that most readers miss is in John 2:6. These stone jars held between twenty and thirty gallons each.

Six jars. Twenty to thirty gallons per jar.

At the minimum, one hundred and twenty gallons of wine. At the maximum, one hundred and eighty gallons.

A gallon contains roughly five standard bottles of wine. One hundred and twenty gallons is therefore somewhere between six hundred and nine hundred bottles of wine — produced at the end of a wedding feast that had already consumed everything the family had prepared.

Nobody needed that much wine. The party was winding down. The miracle was not providing just enough to avoid embarrassment. It was providing a quantity so extravagant that it would have been the talk of Galilee.

John's first miracle was not a careful, minimal, precisely calibrated supernatural intervention. It was abundance on a scale that nobody asked for and nobody could fully account for and nobody could pretend was a small or manageable thing.

This is the pattern throughout John. Not enough to satisfy — overwhelmingly more than enough. Twelve baskets left over after five thousand people ate. Lazarus raised after four days when two would have been sufficient. One hundred and fifty-three fish in a net that did not tear.

His first miracle was abundance that nobody needed.

It set the tone for everything that followed.

*Freedom, to most people, is the “right” to do whatever they want, whenever they want.* _*The Bible reveals that this isn’t real freedom. In John 8:34, Jesus says, “Everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” and again in John 8:36 , “If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”*_ _It’s the freedom that Jesus brings to our soul, when He delivers us from every bo***ge and shackle of sin. It is then, regardless of what our circumstances may be, in Christ we experience great joy, freedom and peace._ Amen

_I am so grateful to Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins, but the amazing thing is that He did so much more than wash away our sins when He went to the cross._
_The bible explains that_ _*He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5*_
Lord Jesus, thank You for giving Your life for me. Help me to live a life worthy of Your Name. Amen.
