Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh This is the official page of Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP). the sun and moon. IFCSAP was formed in the year 1999.

The main objective of IFCSAP is to preserve, protect and promote the Indigenous Faith and the rich cultural heritage of the state. The sons and daughters of this beautiful state of Arunachal Pradesh are the proud bearer of faith and culture in its purest form that has been handed down from generations, nurtured and nourished with the wisdom of our forefathers. Till recent times, our faith and cultural heritage did not face any challenge to its extinction from any outside force. Sensing such threat the great Golgi-Bote late Talom Rukbo started a movement for protection, preservation and promotion of the Donyi-Poloism at Pasighat which attracted people who were worshipers of Donyi and Polo i.e. Gradually the indigenous people of other faiths like worshipers of Rangfra, Amik-Matai, Nani-Inteya, Nyezi-No, Zangna, Lord Buddha and others also realized the need to protect their respective faith and cultural ethos from being bulldozed by alien faith and culture that had started penetrating in the hearts and minds of some of our brothers and sisters. When such a silent, but vibrant movement started gaining momentum in the length and breath of the state a need was felt for an organization that would coordinate the activities of different community based organizations and hence an apex organization in the name and style of the "INDIGENOUS FAITH AND CULTURAL SOCIETY OF ARUANCHAL PRADESH" i.e.

IFCSAP Mobilises ₹15.26 Lakh for Flood-Affected Districts of Arunachal Pradesh Itanagar.

August 7, 2026:

In a remarkable display of unity and indigenous solidarity, the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) has successfully mobilised ₹15,26,570 (Rupees Fifteen Lakh Twenty Six Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Only) for humanitarian assistance to flood-affected districts of the State.

The fund was collectively raised through contributions from various IFCSAP district units across the State and the Central IFCSAP. The entire amount has been distributed to five of the worst-affected districts.

As per the fund distribution details released by IFCSAP General Secretary Smt. Maya Murtem, Papum Pare District received ₹2,05,732 with contributions from IFCSAP District Units of Bichom ₹18,500, Pakke Kessang ₹51,500, Papum Pare ₹85,732 and Central IFCSAP ₹50,000.

Keyi Panyor District received ₹3, 50,000. The exercise was coordinated by Shri Ngurang Gagu, Assistant General Secretary (West), IFCSAP. Contributing units included Keyi Panyor ₹40,000, Lower Subansiri ₹50,000, Kurung Kumey ₹2,00,000, Shi Yomi ₹10,000 and Central IFCSAP ₹50,000.

Leparada District received ₹3,14,373 under the coordination of Shri Bai Taba, Vice President (HQ), IFCSAP. Contributions were made by IFCSAP District Units of Siang ₹30,523, Kamle ₹85,200, Upper Subansiri ₹30,000, Leparada ₹15,000, West Siang ₹60,000, Anjaw ₹15,000, Kra Daadi ₹28,650 and Central IFCSAP ₹50,000.

Lower Siang District received ₹3,40,115. The distribution was coordinated by Shri Taba Rad, President, Youth Wing IFCSAP, with contributions from Tirap ₹53,000, Lower Dibang Valley ₹15,000, Lower Siang ₹26,065, Tawang ₹50,000, West Kameng ₹41,000, Capital Complex ₹1,05,050 and Central IFCSAP ₹50,000.

East Siang District received ₹3,16,350 under the coordination of Shri Olom Perme, Vice President, Youth Wing IFCSAP. The contributing units were East Siang ₹25,000, Upper Siang ₹34,850, Dibang Valley ₹51,000, Lohit ₹15,500, Namsai ₹1,20,000, Longding ₹20,000 and Central IFCSAP ₹50,000.

The distribution exercise commenced on 5th August and concluded on Friday with the final tranche of assistance handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Leparada District by the IFCSAP team.

IFCSAP expressed its sincere gratitude to all district units, office bearers and well-wishers for their generous support. The Society stated that the overwhelming response reflects the enduring indigenous values of mutual care, community service and solidarity in times of distress.

YACHULI, Aug. 6: The Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) on Wednesday handed over ₹3.50 lakh as relief assistance to the Deputy Commissioner of Keyi Panyor, Smt. Ankita Mishra, IAS, for the welfare of families affected by the recent flash floods in the district.

The IFCSAP delegation was led by Shri Ngurang Gagu, Assistant General Secretary (West), IFCSAP, and included representatives from the IFCSAP District Units of Kurung Kumey, Lower Subansiri, and Keyi Panyor, along with members of the Central Executive Committee.

The cheque was formally handed over to the Deputy Commissioner to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected families.

Accepting the cheque, Smt. Ankita Mishra, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Keyi Panyor, thanked the IFCSAP team for their generous and compassionate gesture. She assured the delegation that the donated amount would be utilised in a transparent and judicious manner to provide assistance to the genuinely needy families affected by the flash floods.

The IFCSAP delegation reiterated its commitment to serving society during times of crisis and expressed solidarity with the people of Keyi Panyor as the district continues its recovery and rehabilitation efforts.

As part of its ongoing humanitarian initiative for families affected by the recent flash floods in Arunachal Pradesh, the Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) handed over ₹3,16,350 to Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Siang District, for relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected families.

This contribution reflects the collective compassion and solidarity of IFCSAP's district units and the Central IFCSAP.

IFCSAP Begins First Phase of Flood Relief Assistance, Hands Over ₹2.05 Lakh to Papum Pare

Yupia, August 5:

The Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) today initiated the first phase of its humanitarian assistance to families affected by the devastating flash floods that struck several districts of the State during the intervening days of June 26–29 by handing over a cheque of ₹2,05,732 (Rupees Two Lakh Five Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-Two only) to the Deputy Commissioner of Papum Pare, Hage Mamu, IAS, at her office.

The IFCSAP delegation was led by Dr. Emi Rumi, President, IFCSAP, accompanied by Smti. Maya Murtem, General Secretary, IFCSAP, and Shri C.K. Yab, President, IFCSAP Papum Pare District Unit.

Deputy Commissioner Hage Mamu expressed her gratitude to IFCSAP for the thoughtful humanitarian gesture and remarked that such acts of compassion and solidarity would further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and unity among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

During the interaction, Dr. Emi Rumi briefed the Deputy Commissioner on IFCSAP’s statewide crowd-funding initiative launched to support families affected by the flash floods. He informed that the relief assistance for Papum Pare District was made possible through contributions from the IFCSAP District Unit, Bichom (₹18,500), IFCSAP District Unit, Pakke Kessang (₹51,500), IFCSAP District Unit, Papum Pare (₹85,732), and the IFCSAP Central Executive Committee (₹50,000), bringing the total contribution for the district to ₹2,05,732.

The remaining relief contributions for the other affected districts will be handed over by Friday, completing the first phase of IFCSAP’s flood relief initiative.

On behalf of the IFCSAP Central Executive Committee, Dr. Emi Rumi expressed heartfelt gratitude to every individual and district unit that contributed to the humanitarian effort. He stated that while no financial assistance can fully compensate for the immense losses suffered by the affected families, the contribution is a sincere expression of solidarity, compassion, and shared responsibility.

He further observed that the overwhelming response from indigenous faith believers across Arunachal Pradesh, who came together to support their brothers and sisters in distress, stands as a powerful testament to the timeless wisdom of our ancestors and the enduring values of unity, mutual care, and community service upheld by IFCSAP.

30th July, 2026:

It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the passing of Late Gogyam Gumja Tamin, a revered traditional priest, distinguished scholar of Tagin customary law and practices, and an esteemed elder of the community, who departed for his heavenly abode this morning at TRIHMS at the age of 70.

Born to Late Pugo Gumja and Late Jamnu Gumja of Dignium village under Giba Circle, and later settled at Lejirijo village under Sigin-I, Daporijo, Late Gogyam Gumja Tamin dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the rich indigenous spiritual and cultural heritage of the Tagin people. He embraced shamanism at a very young age and went on to become one of the most respected priests of his generation.

His contribution to the Si-Donyi faith is reflected in the rare distinction of serving as the Head Priest of the Si-Donyi Hilo on nine occasions, beginning with the Naharlagun Si-Donyi celebration in 1989 and culminating at the Naharlagun Si-Donyi Jaaring in 2022. His wisdom, eloquence, deep knowledge of customary traditions, and commitment to indigenous faith earned him immense respect across Arunachal Pradesh.

Beyond his spiritual leadership, Late Gogyam Gumja Tamin was known as a compassionate, humble and noble human being whose guidance touched countless lives. His legacy will continue to inspire generations committed to preserving our indigenous identity and cultural values.

He is survived by his two wives, five sons, three daughters, and many grandchildren, including his son Sri Gyamde Gumja Tamin, Assistant General Secretary of IFCSAP.

On this sad occasion, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Almighty Donyi-Polo to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength, courage and solace to his loved ones during this irreparable loss.
