George Jacobite Syrian Church Kallara, founded in 1948, is one of the early Jacobite Syrian Christian churches in North Malabar. The parish, popularly known as ‘Kallarapally’, is blessed with the relics of St. Baseliose Eldho Maphriyono, who came to India in 1685 from the Holy throne of St Peter in Antioch. The feast of the Saint, celebrated every year from 26th September to 3rd October, is one of

the popular Christian feasts of the region. The Parish has been loyal to the Holy see of Antioch and all the East and to the Holy Patriarchs ascended the throne time to time.
