symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. According to the legends, it is believed that Shree
Narsingh, avatar of Lord Vishnu appeared to
protect his devotee Prahlada and killed
Hiranyakashyap, the demon king. Shri Narsingh
blessed Prahlada and said t

hat anyone who will
take a vrat (fast) on this sacred day will be
blessed. Shri Narsingh is often regarded as a god
