Our emergency support reaches the violence-hit families in both Meitei and Kuki regions in .
Violence that has engulfed the state of Manipur for the past few months has rendered thousands of families homeless and without resources. Many of the villages are totally destroyed and people are residing in hundreds of temporary relief camps. Due to internal tensions, access is restricted from one region to another.
For nearly six weeks, our team has been trying to reach out to the affected families. It took a lot of time for us to identify field volunteers and partners who can serve people in segregated camps that have people residing from Meitei and Kuki-Zomi communities. We were finally able to partner with Akesh relief Foundation from a team of doctors and volunteers had already established contacts in the field on both sides and had started initial relief work.
With the help of this team, we identified vendors from both the sides to procure supplies and relief items. Many thanks to the camp management authorities, community groups and volunteers as well as the team led by Dr. Akes Haokip from Akes relief Foundation for organizing family support kits, coordinating the logistics and delivering the relief items. About 1,000 families from Bishnupur and Moirang camps in Imphal ( group) and Tuibong camp in Chuarchandrapur District ( group) received the kits that contained essential food items. So I request to all Indian brothers and sisters help our team by donation in our foundation scanner like 100-200-500-1000-2000. God always protect you and your family everywhere in the World.
