Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute (Psalm 82:3).

Here, God rebukes the unjust rulers for neglecting the weak and oppressed. God is concerned about the weak, the fatherless, the afflicted, and the destitute. God’s people are called to reflect his heart by standing for justice, protecting the oppressed, and showing compassion to the needy.

Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it (Proverbs 15:16).

What is the value of great wealth if life is filled with trouble? It is far better to have little with the fear of the Lord. True contentment comes not from riches, but from living in reverential fear of God!

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him (Proverbs 14:31).

Throughout the Bible, we see that God is concerned about the poor. That's why oppressing the poor amounts to insulting their Maker. But a person who is generous to the poor honors God. Let's honor God by being generous to the poor, especially those who belong to the household of faith!

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm (Proverbs 13:20).

A person who associates himself with the wise becomes wise, but a man who spends time with fools will face the painful consequences of ungodly choices. So, let's surround ourselves with wise and godly people who spur us to be wise and live for Christ!

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad (Proverbs 12:25).

Anxiety makes one’s heart heavy but a kind word makes one glad. People around us are full of anxiety. They are burdened and heavy-laden. Let's show the love of Christ by speaking kindly and encouraging them!

18/05/2026

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want (Proverbs 11:24).

God blesses generosity but withholds blessings from the greedy. That's why those who give freely are blessed further and those who are stingy remain in lack. Since God blessed us bountifully, let's give to the Lord’s work generously and cheerfully!

Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways! I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes (Psalm 81:13-14).

God desired for his people to walk in his ways. If they had done it, he would have subdued their enemies. When we walk in God’s ways, we will enjoy divine protection from our spiritual foes. Let's walk in God’s ways, which are revealed in his Word!

When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent (Proverbs 10:19).

When we speak a lot, we tend to sin with our lips. But a wise person controls his tongue. Let's not sin with our tongues. Let's ask the Lord to grant us his wisdom in our daily speech!

Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you (Proverbs 9:8).

If one corrects a scoffer, the scoffer will hate him, but if he corrects a wise man, the wise man will love him. A wise person becomes wiser by learning through correction. Let's grow in wisdom by being open to correction by godly people!

Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved! (Psalm 80:7)

Israel was lamenting about their brutal treatment by the Gentiles. The Lord allowed this because of his people’s sins. So, the psalmist prays to God to restore them and grant his favor and blessings so that they will be delivered from their enemies. This psalm encourages believers to repent and plead with God to restore them. When we surrender ourselves to God, he will grant us his favor and restore our relationship with him!
