Sunday School - CMEC The uniqueness of this Sunday School is to be a place of effective learning not just for kids alone but for young people and adults as well.

The Sunday School at the Centenary Methodist English Church is run entirely by dedicated men and women of God who volunteer their services to teach children the Word of God. Forty-three regular teachers minister to the children apart from the SS Executive Team that runs the Sunday School operations. The uniqueness of this Sunday School is that it is not just for kids but we also have classes for adults as well as for also those who want to pursue part time theological studies. The highlights of the Sunday School are the opening and closing assemblies, which are a riot, with high energy singing ….. just what kids like... but the children receive a lot of spiritual food in the classrooms which is the primary focus. Over 200 children attend the Sunday School which starts at 9:30am, right after the morning worship service and ends at 11:30am. Children for all backgrounds are welcome and we have a class for every age until the kids are 18. After that they go the young adults class and older ones mover the Adults classes, which have exciting Bible Studies. The yearly budget is around 2.5 Lakhs, all of which is raised from
the Sunday School offertory and donations from students and teachers.

1. Jonathan Karun Mitra, wins the 1st Prize for Juniors’ Short Speech

2. Suzan Paul won 2nd Prize in Preaching from Seniors!

3. Rhea Abigail Mitra wins 2nd Prize for Story Telling in Primaries.

Last Sunday turned out to be an exciting day for our Sunday School Students at Champs for Christ Competitions

1. Samuel Devasir - Beginners won the 1st Prize
2. Arohi Johanna - Primaries won the 2nd Prize
3. Suzan Paul - Seniors won the 3rd Prize

We are delighted to share that Abigail Sagar and Rajakumare won 2nd Prize in this year’s competition! We also congratulate Edwina and Venky for participating and giving their best. This was the 4th time our Sunday School Young people are participating in the Inter-Church Bible Quest Competition, organised by IYFC and known to be one of the toughest Bible competitions.

A huge congratulations to all these young people for their passion and hunger to study His Word and grow in their knowledge of Scripture. We are truly proud of you all!

🎉 Sunday School Reopens Tomorrow!🎉

We are excited to welcome everyone back to Sunday School tomorrow, 21 June 2026! Please arrive at church by 9:30 AM as we begin a wonderful new year together.

It’s a special time to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, thank our previous teachers, and step into new classes with new teachers and new opportunities to learn and grow.

🌟 Bring your friends along! The more, the merrier.

Remember, Sunday School is for all ages. Whether you are young or old, everyone is welcome to join us as we study God’s Word, grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, and draw closer to Him.
