“Ya Ghaus Madad” is not just a phrase to repeat without understanding its meaning. Our du'a, ultimate reliance, and seeking of unseen supernatural help belong to Allah alone. 🤲🏻
Allah says in the Qur'an:
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
“You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.”
📖 Surah Al-Fatihah 1:5
The key distinction is between seeking ordinary help from someone who is alive and capable, and invoking someone who has passed away for supernatural help. The latter can fall into shirk when it involves directing acts of worship to other than Allah.
Call upon Allah directly. He is Al-Hayy, the Ever-Living, and Al-Qadeer, the All-Powerful. 🤍
May Allah guide us to Tawheed and protect us from shirk. Ameen.
