Sadguru Sri Sri Sri Nampally Baba Maharaj is the 6th Dattatreya avatar, who appeared in Malakpet burial ground, Hyderabad around 1950 and took Maha Samadhi on 6th Nov, 2004. Who is this Baba? From where he is? No one knows complete details. Around 1950, Baba was first seen at Malakpet burial ground, Hyderabad. Baba always used to be in a blissful state and never used to speak with anyone. d to talk to himself, laugh, sometimes look at sky and do some gestures. Most of the people thought that he is a mentally retarded person. But there were a few blessed people, by this time only identified him as an Avadhoota. People were astonished with the divine fragrance coming from Baba, even though he hadn't taken his bath for many days. In 1972 Baba had an accident and was admitted to Osmania Hospital. After that no one saw him till 1980. In 1980, Baba was seen again at the corridor of Nampally Police Station. Hence onwards people used to call him as “Nampally Baba”. Ministers, Doctors, higher officials, businessmen and all sort of people used to visit Baba and took his blessings. Around 1987 Baba had been shifted to Sri Sravan kumar’s house at Gowlipura, Charminar and for the last six years Baba was moved to Vivekanada Nagar, Kukatpally before Samadhi. Baba left his physical body on 6th Nov, 2004 and his body was put as samadhi near dharmapuri kshetram,deepthisree nagar,hyderabad. Sri Nampally Baba told one of his devotee’s that "This is the 6th avatar, Now you see me" (1. SriPada SriVallabha 2. Sri Nrusimha Saraswathi 3. Sri Akkalkot Swamy 4. Sri Manik Prabhu 5. Shirdi Sai Baba are the 5 avatars of Sri Dattatreya). Shiridi Sai Baba appeared in dreams to many devotees and told them that "Now I am in the avatar of Sri Nampally Baba who is staying in hyderabad" have darshan and take his blessings. Many Sai Baba devotees in their return journey from Shiridi used to get down at Nampally railway station and take blessings from Sri Nampally Baba. Sri Sivenesan Swami (who stayed in shiridi for more than 50 years) used to tell the devotees from hyderabad visiting shiridi that," You need not come here to visit Sai Baba, now he is there in the form of Sri Nampally Baba”. Pujya Acharya Sri Ekkirala Bharadwaja Master used to encourage many devotees going to hyderabad to visit Sri Nampally Baba and take his blessings. Avadhoota’s like Sri RamiReddy Tatha, Sri Gopal Baba, Sri Koti Baba, Sri Digambara Baba etc. took blessings of Sri Nampally Baba and praised him as “Avadhoota Samrat”. Devotees of Nampally Baba say that if one visits Baba’s samadhi regularly with faith, all their wishes are fulfilled.
