Holi is one of the important and prominent Festival..,

Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, is a vibrant festival celebrated to mark the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. The festival's history dates back to ancient times and is rich with mythology and tradition.

One of the most popular legends associated with Holi is the story of Hiranyakashipu, a demon king who desired to be worshipped as a god. His son, Prahlad, however, remained devoted to the Lord Vishnu. Angered by his son's defiance, Hiranyakashipu plotted with his sister, Holika, to kill Prahlad by burning him in a fire. Miraculously, Prahlad emerged unscathed while Holika, who was supposed to be immune to fire, perished. This event is commemorated on the eve of Holi with Holika Dahan, where bonfires are lit to symbolize the burning of evil.

The festival also celebrates the divine love between Radha and Krishna. It is said that Krishna, who had blue skin, was concerned that Radha wouldn't find him attractive. His mother suggested he apply colors to Radha's face, and upon doing so, she fell in love with him. This playful coloring is emulated during Holi, where people throw colored powders called 'gulal' at each other.

Holi is celebrated over two days, starting with Holika Dahan and followed by Rangwali Holi, the day when the actual play with colors takes place. It's a time for people to gather, play, laugh, and forgive, as well as to repair broken relationships.
