Bonalu Jatara (Lashkar Bonalu) also known as Mahankali Bonalu Jatara or Mahankali Jatara is an annual state festival celebrated throughout the state on different dates especially in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. In this festival all the devotees offer their prayers in form of ‘Bonam-Pooja’ to Goddess “Mahankali know as Kali Mata” “Poshamma-Sitala Mata”etc to receive blessing, good health and wealth. This is one of the tremendous festivals for Telugu people in this state which is celebrated generally in Ashada period (1 month between June to August) in Old city, Lower Dhoolpet, Puranapul. At Sri Sitala Mata and Chatwai Mata Temple this is one of the biggest festivals which I celebrated as “Sitala Mata Bonalu Jatara” on a grand note by Founder Family Members (Gopi’s Family) of the temple, here this festival is celebrated for 4-6 days where in we will witness around thousands of devotees for Dharshanam and Pooja. On a bigger note this year also we invite all our devotees to happily participate in this Jatara to take blessing of “Poshamma-Sitala Mata” and make it a grand success. In the same way secondly Ugadi ‘Telugu New Year’ and Navratri are also celebrated on a grand note at this temple for 9-10 days by Shri Pujari Gopi Ramakanth Garu S/o of Shri Late Pujari Gopi Ramulu who is the Founder Trustee of this temple.
