✨ Purushottama Month 2026 (Adhik Maas) ✨
💙 A Divine Opportunity to Receive the Special Mercy of Lord Sri Krishna 💙

📅 Period: 17 May 2026 – 15 June 2026

Purushottama Maas, also known as Adhik Maas, is an extremely sacred and rare month in the Vedic calendar that appears approximately once every three years. This additional lunar month is introduced to harmonize the lunar and solar calendars. Scriptures explain that when two full moons occur within a lunar cycle, this auspicious Purushottama Month manifests.

Initially, this extra month was neglected and rejected by the other months. Feeling sorrowful, it approached Lord Vishnu for shelter. Out of His unlimited compassion, Lord Sri Krishna accepted this month as His own and bestowed upon it the name “Purushottama Maas.” Therefore, this month is considered especially dear to the Lord, and devotional activities performed during this time grant unlimited spiritual benefit. Scriptures state that sincerely observing Purushottama Maas can bestow spiritual merit equal to observing 16 Kartik vows.

📖 In the Padma Purana, Lord Sri Krishna recommends that devotees especially engage in the following devotional activities during this sacred month:

🌸 Chanting the holy names of Sri Krishna
📚 Regular study of Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita As It Is
🪔 Offering daily ghee lamps to the Lord
🙏 Charity and Vaishnava seva
🍛 Prasadam distribution and association of devotees

This holy month is a special opportunity for purification of the heart, growth in devotion, and surrender to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna. Even a small spiritual endeavor performed during this period can bring profound transformation in one’s life.

Let us utilize this divine Purushottama Maas by increasing our chanting, hearing of scriptures, and devotional service, and thus make our lives spiritually successful.

Ahobilam is the holy place where Lord Sri Nrsimhadeva appeared to protect Prahlada Maharaja. The scriptures glorify this divine dham as highly auspicious and spiritually uplifting for devotees.

On 30 April, we celebrate the divine appearance of Lord Narasimha, the most merciful and powerful incarnation of Lord Krishna, who appeared to protect His dear devotee Prahlada Maharaja and destroy the demon Hiranyakashipu.

✨ The glories of Lord Narasimha are unlimited. He is the protector of all devotees, the remover of fear, and the destroyer of all obstacles on the path of bhakti. His appearance teaches us that no matter how difficult the situation may be, the Lord always comes to safeguard those who sincerely take shelter of Him.
