More than 200 Buddhist monks from monasteries across Sikkim came together at Rimbi in West Sikkim on Wednesday to extend support to families affected by the recent devastating landslide.

The relief initiative was led by Kyabje Dungzin Rinpoche and H.E. Serta Khyentse Rinpoche, with monks joining hands to assist the affected community and contribute to ongoing relief and recovery efforts.

From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the monks actively engaged in physical relief work at the affected areas. Their efforts included clearing mud and debris, shifting essential goods, cleaning affected premises and extending assistance wherever required.

The collective effort brought together monks from different monasteries in a united expression of compassion and solidarity with the affected families.

The initiative reflected the Buddhist values of compassion, selfless service and solidarity, with the monks standing alongside the community during a difficult time.

The relief effort carried a simple message of unity and hope: “Together, as one family, we help build new hope.”
