Instagram: ---*STORY OF THE CHURCH LAND*---
Everyone has a dream one struggles to realize. Micheal wasted no time. Rev. Fr.

Joseph Michael Suares, popularly known as Michael, dreamed for us all. Ever since he came to Gurgaon in November 1990, he had dreamed of a Church in the vicinity of DLF. To this end he enlisted the support of the late Archbishop Alan De Lastic. Even though hs Grace was enthusiastic about the idea, unfortunately he did not live to see it materialize. Micheal, however din’t give up through his wide

network and diligent research, he learnt that Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) periodically allots land – one to each major religion - Hinduism, Islam, Christianity. It must be mentioned here that although each religion comprises numerous sects, only one plot is allotted to each religion. It therefore leads to a great amount of jostling and competition to obtain the plot. Micheal’s forte was his ability to envision the need of another Catholic Church is this area. He anticipated an increase in population due to the changing scenario in Delhi. In the late 1990’s prices and rentals of business properties skyrocketed and the Delhi government encouraged businesses to shift out to the satellite towns in the National Capital Region. As a result, offices of major business houses shifted to Gurgaon, among other places. Even though the Church of Immaculate Conception had been beautifully and impressively rebuilt, the Catholic population had witnessed an exponential growth. Having also worked in DLF himself in the early 1990’s and though he was in the field of Corporate Tax planning. Tax laws and Finance, he was also fully well versed with systems and processes of land allotment. He therefore realized the place to start was the Town and Country Planning Office (TCPO) in Chandigarh. He established contact with the TCP officer there. Using all the facts and figures at his command regarding the increase in population and the non-availability of adequate place for worship, he tried to persuade the TCPO to allot some land to the Archdiocese of Delhi. Sucg was the strength of Micheal’s persuasiveness and convincing arguments that the TCPO, while expressing his inability to directly allot land to a church, told him that HUDA would be releasing advertisements of religious sites and that he should get his religious authority to apply. He obtained the formal land application form and requested his Grace Archbishop Vincent Concessao to apply in the name of the Archdiocese of Delhi. Though initially sceptical, the Archdiocese did apply. However after due process when the allotments were made, to everyone’s dismay, the plot for the Christians was allotted to the Bible Society of India ans the Archdiocese was back to square one. Undaunted and undeterred, he started pursuing the matter from scratch with the TCP. Again the process – scan papers and the wait for the advertisement, fill and submit the application with relevant documents. Anyone who has applied for a plot of land on the basis of quota or reservation knows the heaps of an application. Singlehandedly Micheal did the needful. Then began the period of waiting. Finally, after sorting through all applications HUDA asked the Archdiocese of Delhi to make a presentation on their application. A team led by Father Charles D’Souza, who specifically requested Micheal to join them, did so. As Father Charles later told us, Micheal was able to convincingly argue, using his knowledge of Gurgaon demographical patterns and growth for the allotment of a plot for religious worship to the Archdiocese of Delhi. It was with great happiness and joy that in September 2007 (?), Father Charles informed Micheal that the land allotment letter had finally been received by the Delhi Archdiocese. Micheal’s untiring efforts and dogged determination in securing the land for another church in Gurgaon was also acknowledged by the late Father Lourdasamy, then parish priest of Kanhei Church to applause from the Sunday morning congregation. Many parishioners have worked to build the church of the Holy Name of Jesus, but the plot of land on which this beautiful church stands is a memorial of the vision and determination of Joseph Micheal Suares. The Church was inaugurated on 14th August 2011 by Most. Vincent M. Concessao Archbishop of Delhi and Rt. Franco Mulakkal Auxiliary bishop of Delhi, along with priests, nuns, and faithful. Victor Immanuel has been installed as the Parish Priest of Holy Name Church on 14th August 2011. Micheal passed away on April 20, 2010, just 4 months before his dream came true.

At 12 noon in Hindi and 6 pm in English, the faithful gathered in solemn devotion. The service began with the Stations of the Cross ✝️, retracing the steps of our Lord’s suffering, and continued with the Passion of Christ 🙏.
Our Parish Priest Fr. Blessin, aided by Fr. Maria, led us in prayer 🕊️, reminding us of the prophecy fulfilled through Christ’s crucifixion. With passionate love, Jesus bore the cross ✝️, carrying the sins of the world, and showered us with God’s eternal blessing 🌿.
📖 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24 ✝️🕊️
📖 “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13 ❤️✝️
After the Mass, parishioners were lovingly served Hot Cross Buns 🍞, a symbol of fellowship and remembrance.
🙏🕊️ May the sacrifice of Christ inspire us to walk in humility, love, and faith, carrying His cross daily, and living as witnesses of His resurrection hope.

On the sacred occasion of Maundy Thursday, 2nd April 2026, at Holy Name Church, the atmosphere was deeply filled with love, humility, and unwavering faith.

The Hindi Mass at 6:00 PM, led by Father Maria in the basement, and the English Mass at 7:00 PM, celebrated by Father Geo Jacob, both witnessed a full and devoted congregation—truly a packed house, reflecting the spiritual fervor of the faithful.

What made the evening profoundly special was the symbolic washing of the feet, commemorating Christ’s act of humility and service. In a beautiful and unique gesture, the twelve “disciples” chosen were all women—ranging from young children to teenagers and elderly ladies—gracefully representing devotion across generations. The ceremony was conducted with deep reverence, leaving everyone present touched and inspired.

The entire service stood as a powerful reminder that true faith is expressed through love, humility, and selfless service to one another.

Bible Verses:
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.”
— John 13:14

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
— Philippians 2:3

A truly blessed and soul-stirring evening, reminding us all of the essence of Christ’s teachings—love in action, humility in service, and faith in togetherness.

🌿 Palm Sunday at Holy Name Church – 22nd March
On this sacred and blessed day, the parish community came together in deep faith and devotion to celebrate Palm Sunday. Father, with humility and reverence, led the faithful carrying blessed palm leaves, reminding everyone of the Lord’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem — a symbol of peace, sacrifice, and eternal love.
The homily was delivered with spiritual depth and grace, guiding the parishioners to reflect on the meaning of Palm Sunday in their own lives.
The choir added a divine dimension to the celebration. The harmony felt like a heavenly blessing, reminding all that worship in unity brings strength and peace.
Palm Sunday was not just a ritual, but a day of prayer, humility, and gratitude.
The celebration at Holy Name Church was a true reflection of faith lived with sincerity — a gathering where devotion, humility, and blessings flowed abundantly, preparing hearts for the journey toward Easter.

*Guided by Parish Priest Father Thomas Blessin*
*Holy Name Church – 22nd March 2026*
On the blessed morning of 22nd March 2026, *Auxiliary Bishop Father Deepak Valerian Tauro* presided over the Holy Mass at 8:30 a.m. The Youth of our Church led the choir with devotion and beauty,
During the homily, the Bishop explained the meaning and purpose of the Pastoral Visit — उन्होंने बताया कि एक shepherd अपने flock को ज्ञान और विश्वास में मज़बूत बनाता है। After the Mass, सभी parishioners ने basement में मिलकर नाश्ता किया, जो fellowship और gratitude का एक सुंदर पल था। *
A special word of thanks goes to the Tribal ladies

_*Scripture Blessings*_
