This Pentecost Sunday, we pause to remember and celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, a defining moment not only in the life of the early Church, but in the ongoing life of every believer.
As Pentecostal people, we do not merely celebrate a historical event. We celebrate a present reality.
The Holy Spirit is not a distant doctrine to be discussed, but the abiding presence of God to be cherished. He is our Comforter in troubled times, our Counselor in confusing times, our Strength in weak times, and our Power for holy living and faithful witness.
We need the Holy Spirit in our personal lives; to guide us, convict us, empower us, and keep our hearts tender toward God.
We need the Holy Spirit in our families, to bring peace where there is tension, wisdom where there are difficult decisions, healing where there is hurt, and spiritual fire in the next generation.
We need the Holy Spirit in our churches, not merely for emotional moments, but for genuine revival, spiritual discernment, bold preaching, authentic worship, supernatural ministry, and a renewed passion for the mission of Christ.
And certainly, we need the Holy Spirit in this hour in our society.
When truth is being blurred, morality is being redefined, confusion is increasing, and hearts are growing cold, the answer is not merely better strategies, stronger opinions, or louder voices. We need the Spirit of God moving again with conviction, power, wisdom, and awakening.
Pentecost reminds us that the Church was never meant to operate in human strength alone.
May we never take for granted the presence of the Holy Spirit. May we never lose our hunger for His power. May we remain a people who welcome His work, obey His voice, and depend fully upon His leading.
On this Pentecost Sunday, may the fire of God burn fresh in our hearts, our homes, our churches, and across our nation.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6
