This temple was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century. It was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions.

One story of the site's origin is as follows: The sage Agastya wanted to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara on this site. However, the statue that was made could not be installed as the toe nail of the idol got broken. The sage was upset over this and performed a penance for Shiva. When Shiva appeared, he said the place suits Shiva better as it resembles Kailash. Agastya then requested Shiva to give the devotees a Parvathi Goddess as Lord Uma Maheswara in a single stone, which Shiva obliged.

This temple construction was started few years back by quarry laborers and they themselves constructing this in their free time after come back from work every day.
And till now they have not asked for contributions from the people and they are still managed to continue the construction of this temple.
It's constructing with complete stone and it is going to be the one of the biggest Lord Sree Rama temple around this area and also probably going to be one of the best temple in Anantapur district.

Here i'm posting few pics of this temple which is still under construction phase.

(Anantapur dist)
-- The Adventurous Journey To Reach Here

This is a hill station with beautiful view points from where you can see all corners of Anantaput district like one side Anantapur town, one side Singanamala Lake, one side Solar Power plant and the other side big big mountains.

The draback is you don't have road to reach to the highest point where we have Temple for Gampamallayya Swamy (One of the form of Lord Shiva as per the people in that place).

But thats very good for the people who want go for real treckig and by the time of reaching the highest point of theses mountains by climbing you will burn tons of calories.

There are around 3-4 base stations( places) for climbing these group of mountains and among the base stations where ever you start you have to climb mountain for at least 5-7 kilometers. And its not at all flat surface and you have to climb most of the times and also you do not find clear ground and all filled with rocks.

And I feel it's like this adventurous trip and I can bet you will burn your calories which will be equal to some 3months of training :) :) :).

It's only 4days (all Saturdays of Shravan Month) for entire years to go for this trip remaining days you will endup in Forst with no crowd.

I'm sure it's truely adevnturous journey and you will enjoy a lot with a group.

As this years Sravan month already over and we have great memories and waiting for next year Sravan month.

Gandikota was founded in 1123 by Kapa Raja of nearby Bommanapalle village and a subordinate of Ahavamalla Someswara I, the Western Chalukyan king of Kalyana.[1] The town played a significant role during the Kakatiya, Vijayanagara and Qutub Shahi periods. The fort was made more impregnable by Pemmasani Thimma Nayudu. The fort was under the control of Pemmasani naidus for over 300 years.

The fort of Gandikota acquired its name due to the 'gorge' (in Telugu it is called 'gandi'), formed between the Erramala range of hills, also known as Gandikota hills and the river Pennar that flows at its foot, reducing its width to a mere 300 ft (see the river image below). Situated amidst beautiful landscape and wild forests, it is endowed with vast natural resources.
