The Kovil Thirupani work has reached the near-completion stage. Between July 2021, when we started with the Bhumi Puja, and February 2022, when we finished the flooring and first layer of painting for the compound wall, we were all witness to the working of Ammacharโ€™s Grace. Kind-hearted devotees, family members, friends, donors, and well-wishers came forward to offer for this noble cause. To each one of them, we offer our deepest gratitude. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

The space around the Peepal tree on the south-western side is a dedicated garden with flowering plants and some fruit bearing trees. Different varieties of flowers blooming here adorn the Divine Mother as garlands and loose flowers during daily pujas.

After many years of longing and waiting, this finally manifested. The karungal tharai, or granite flooring, which is a common site in many temples. One of the key benefits of this would be to facilitate devotees to do the Parikrama (circumambulation) around the Amman sannidhi, as well as perform the Angapradakshina, or worshipping Mother by rolling around the sanctum sanctorum in a prostration posture. The flooring also helps in the ease of maintenance across all seasons. Simultaneously, electrical and waterline work were also completed.

The temple has a Madapalli, or the kitchen area, where the daily neivedya is prepared. An adjacent room now stands next to it for storage and other utilities. A set of open wood fire stoves were also built in the same area. These would be used especially during the Aadi Festival which falls in the Tamil month of Aadi (July-August). This marks the beginning of the monsoon, a time when devotees make traditional offerings such as Sakkarai Pongal (sweet rice), Ven Pongal (savoury rice and lentils), and Maa Vilakku (rice flour lamp) to express their gratitude to the Divine Mother.
