Official Announcement of Deep Sadness

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of
The Most Venerable Dr. Bhaddanta Ñāṇissara
(Abhidhaja Mahā Rattha Guru, Abhidhaja Aggamahā Saddhammajotika,
Aggamahā Paṇḍita, Aggamahā Saddhammajotikadhaja),
the world-renowned missionary and Dhamma teacher,
who had been residing at Kusinara Myanmar Monastery,
Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, India, performing the Buddhist missionary duties
at the sacred place of the Mahāparinibbāna of the Buddha.

The Venerable Sayadaw had been receiving medical treatment
at Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India since 12th October 2025.

With profound sadness, we hereby inform all that
the Most Venerable Sayadaw peacefully passed away
on Friday, 31st October 2025, at 4:50 a.m. (India time).

May the late Sayadaw rest in eternal peace and attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbāna.
