Introduction of Mahudi Tirth

This is a small village near Kalol 78 kms from Ahmedabad famous for Jinalaya of Ghantakarna Mahavir. There are thousands of people from different religions offering prayers besides Jain devotees. The temple's prasad-Sukhadi is not allowed to be taken outside the temple. It is a centre of pilgr

image for the Jains devotees and Khadayata Banias. Jain temple is dedicated to Vir Ghantakarna. 'Yognistha Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad BuddhiSagarsuri Maharaj Sahebji' had observed a long period of penance here and had inspired the construction of new temple. Devotees offer `sukhadi', which after offering, is eaten within the temple complex. Large and clean sarai offers comfortable stay to the pilgrims
Historicity : In ancient times, this place was known as Madhupuri. The idols and artistic remains found from the hollow of the earth show that this place is nearly 2000 years old. The inscription in the Brahmi script also show its antiquity. The ancient and beautiful Mulnayak Bhagawana Padmaprabhu, was formally reinstalled by 'Yognishta Acharyadev Shrimad Buddhisagarsurisvarji' in the newly built temple in the 1974 of the Vikram era. This temple with a passage for going round it is different. Ghantakarna Mahavir was formally installed in the temple here by the 'Shrimad Buddhisagarsurisvarji Acharya' in the 1974 of the Vikram era. The idol of Ghantakarna Mahvir is very miraculous. Thousands of pilgrims with faith and devotion, come here to fulfill their desires. Every year, on the fourteenth day of the dark half of the month of A*o, the ceremony of charitable offering is celebrated in the Jain way in the temple of Ghankakarna Mahavir. The annual function is also celebrated. The splendid temple of Ghantakarna with the twenty four devkulikas is at present under renovation.
